How could a house have such an effect? How could such an old, mucky house change the lives of a town...or better yet, two boys. Two boys that would find love only because of the house, if it wasn't for it...we don't know how their lives would've ended.

Colour was practically drained from view, or at least to one person. The world felt cold and dim, not much was important nor did much matter.

The car was a dim grey colour, much like the cloud-covered sky which hid the sun away.

Tap tap...

Tap tap...

Tap tap...

The rain was picking up even faster as the car was ever so slowly making it's way down the forest surrounded roads, twists and turns as they entered the rather..."charming" city, it's charm was selective. Just like most of the people in the town.

The young boys' eyes focused on the rusty welcome sign, it's barely visible letters on it barely making the "WELCOME TO DERRY" readable, but somehow he saw it.

"Ma, we're here." The boy mumbled, his eyes darting back down to the floor of the classic mini cooper, he wasn't too interested in the rest of the view cause it was rather...downing. He was leaving the town he grew up, he was leaving his closest friends, he was leaving his dad.

It was tough.

But, something...interested him, he looked back up, noticing the old, busted house...it was completely black wood and looked like it had gone through absolute hell and back. But he couldn't stop looking, even if it was a bit of an eyesore.

It was an old victorian looking build, three stories high with a massive circle window that looked completely cracked at the very top floor. It was more enchanting then the boy would've admitted but it was...and he couldn't stop thinking about it.

Even after driving past it, it was all on his mind as he finally arrived in the driveway of the two-bedroom house, yet again old. This entire town hasn't had any movement or new buildings in at least twenty years and you could definitely see it.

After hours of unpacking, sorting through the boxes and trying to make his room look...tolerable, he finally gave up. Just giving into his dull room.

"Ma, I'm going for a walk..." He hummed, only to get tugged and thrown around by the older woman, forcing him into a massive jumper and hats, making sure he's warm.

"Be back within an hour, Eddie. Or else." Sonia sighed, giving him a quick pat on the head to show that he's allowed to leave.

The streets were yet again, dim. Everything was dim. Nothing was exciting to Eddie anymore, one could even say that he was having some mental health problems after the death of a loved one...but that's not here nor there and it's not being talked about now.

A crack of thunder burst through the sky, cracking a show of complete white as Eddie practically shat himself, god did the rain pick up. It became way too heavy.

'Fuck, fuck.' Eddie thought to himself, lifting the back of his shirt in an attempt to cover his head 'How- Ok...place...' His eyes darted around the street, 'Ok, tree...more fucking trees- house?' Eddies eyebrow raised, swearing he didn't mean to walk that way...but, it was the only place around that he could possibly run into. So, he did.

He ran as fast as his legs could take him, making his way onto the squeaky porch. The house had to be abandoned, it just had to be. Why else would they leave the front door open?

He made his way in, his shaky hands gripping onto his phone as he flicked the torch on.

"Yep...abandoned." He mumbled to himself, letting out a rather annoyed sigh as his eyes swept across the blanket covered furniture. "Jeez, who died here?.."
