Nightmare{SFW}

At 3 o'clock in the morning, Mystery lay at the foot of Arthur's bed, as he slept peacefully, drooling as he dreamt of sandwiches. It had been a few weeks after Lewis's death and everything was slowly settling down. Well, for Mystery at least. A muffled sound however woke him from his slumber and his ears perked up as he tried to listen for where it had come from, sitting up from his curled up position.

"No! Please, Lewis, come back to me!"Vivi's voice was quiet, but Mystery heard every word and knew that his friend was having a nightmare about their leader's death.

The dog hopped off the bed and went up to Arthur's door, glancing back at his friend before turning back, nudging the door open and slipping into the hall. He padded down the hall to Vivi's room, standing on his hind legs to paw at the knob before it opened up,nudging it open and peeking into the room in Vivi's direction.

Vivi was struggling in her cover's, small cries muffled beneath them as she tried to cry out for Lewis. She knocked something fragile off of her side dresser and it hit the ground with a small crash, causing her to stir in her slumber.

Mystery bounded up carefully to her bed, avoiding the glass on the floor as he hopped up onto her bed. The dog moved up, whining quietly as he attempted to get under her covers to check on her but failed in doing so. Mystery decided that he needed to wake her up a different way and started to shake her with his paws, this time being successful as Vivi jolted awake and moved to get the covers off of her.

"Lewis!"she screamed as she sat up, then the girl tensed as she saw that it was only Mystery," Oh..Mystery, its you.."she mumbled as she drifted off, her hands moving up to wipe the tears that were rolling down her cheeks. She only ended up crying more as she remembered why she was crying and broke down, sobbing into her hands.

Mystery whined and crawled into her lap, lapping at her salty cheeks as she cried. This resulted in receiving a hug as Vivi put her arms around the dogs neck loosely, burying her face into his fur.

"Oh, Mystery.. I miss him so much, I-I..It's all my fault..I'm the one who insisted that we go to the caves and search them for clues.."

Mystery tensed up as she blamed herself and whined, moving and licking her cheeks to try and get her to stop talking about herself in such a manner. He didn't want her to think that, and wished he could tell her what really happened. But he couldn't. He couldn't speak. The troubles of being a dog.

Vivi glanced off to the side of her bed to see what had fallen down, her eyes widening as she reached down to pick up the picture of her and Lewis on their first date, his arms around her waist as he looked over her shoulder at the camera. Seeing his face only made her start crying harder, which Mystery lapped up her tears again as he began whimpering with sympathy for his friend. She contiued to cry for a few more minutes before quieting down and sniffling,".. It's gonna be hard without him..But I am very sure that he wouldn't want us to give up mystery solving or mourn so much as we have been.. He would want us to continue with our hunt for the demon and solve this case, and thats just what we will do, we will solve this mystery and figure this all out."she spoke softly as she ran a hand through Mystery's fur, giving the dog a small half-hearted smile.

Mystery barked in response, his tail wagging at her sudden positivity. He nudged her to get her to lay back down, which she complied in doing so, pulling her covers back up around her. The dog then curled up at her feet, deciding to stay with the bluenette for the rest of the night to keep her company. The dog would make it up to Arthur in the morning. For now, Vivi needed someone to be there for her.

"Thank you, Mystery, for coming in here.."Vivi's voice was quiet as she slowly started to fall back to sleep, her eyes fluttering closed. In a matter of seconds, Mystery's friend was asleep again, worn out from crying.

Mystery only waggled his tail and gave a small growl in response before he also fell back into his deep slumber, slipping into a dream where the crew was all together again.
