Fatal Attraction

The wind carries my screams deeper into the night

Threatening to expose my hiding place

A soft velvety voice gently whispers in my ear

I sharply turn my head, but soon become lost in the eyes of the intruder

He takes a quick glance at my blood soaked gown and steps closer

I watch in apprehension as he raises his hand and slowly places it over my fast beating heart

His warmth is calming, comforting and safe, a feeling I have never experienced before

He quickly retracts his hand leaving me feeling empty once again

I blink back the tears and look up; his gaze softens as he holds out his hand

I hesitate before I latch on

He pulls me up and wraps his arm around my thin waist

He gently turns around and drags my limp body deeper into the darkness

We stop at an abandoned cliff

He doesn't turn around but harshly pulls me closer to his side

I turn my back on all the hate and force a smile

My saviour squeezes my waist tighter and jumps, bringing me down with him

The water is refreshing and thrilling

I close my eyes and blank my mind

Soft lips pull me out of my deep slumber

As I open my heavy eyelids murderous flames surround my lifeless body

The shadows have finally captured my rotting soul

Reminding me that I'll always be alone
