Why is it so hard to smile?
A simple task,
Only achieved every once in a while.

A symbol of happiness,
Of joy and hope.
Or of a facade
To fake while you mope.

Why is it so hard to smile?
To feel the joy,
More than every once in a while?

Is that just life?
Is that how it is?
Will it ever go back?
To how it was when we were kids?

Maybe not.. but that's ok..
Because today, in this day and age..
A smile is worth the wait.
