The Ghost Boy of the Justice League

Paradise lost part II

After meeting up with the others Phantom, Flash, Martian Manhunter, Wonder Woman, Superman and Batman were inside an apartment room filled with creepy artifacts and objects that looked like they were from the dark ages 

"fascinating" said Martian Manhunter looking around the apartment "Faust clearly has a great passion for learning" 

"if by fascinating you mean really creepy then yeah" said Phantom picking up a skull examining it 

"where did he get this stuff warlocks R us" commented Flash picking up a scepter with a giant crystal at the end of it 

While he was studying it he didn't notice the eyeball open at the top of it as the crystal light up 

Batman noticed it and his eyes widened "don't touch that!" he exclaimed 

Flash turned around to look at him when a blast shot out of the crystal towards the dark knight who ducked as the blast hit the wall leaving a smoking crater 

"oops" said Flash as Batman stormed up to him 

"don't touch anything!" he exclaimed snatching the scepter from him "we don't know what kind of powers we're dealing with!" 

After he said that everyone put immediately put back what they were holding before looking around again 

Superman looked at the smoking wall before turning to Batman "so who is this Faust?" 

Everyone turned to look at Batman who pulled something out of his belt "Felix Faust was once a respected professor of archaeology" Batman explained as he set a picture of Felix Faust on the table he was a skinny looking man wearing a suit with black hair and blue eyes standing in front of some Egyptian ruins "but when he became fascinated with the mystic arts he was kicked out of the university for his heretical ideas, he swore revenge on those who mocked him and several later disappeared under mysterious circumstances" 

Wonder Woman looked around the room before spotting something on the wall "i have a pretty good idea what happened to them" 

The other heroes saw what she was looking at and saw three shriveled heads with looks of horror on their faces mounted on the walls 

"eww" said Flash 

"i think i'm gonna be sick" said Phantom holding his mouth

"he's mad" said Superman 

"it gets worse" said Batman turning their attention back to him, they saw him holding a book "i found his journal the last entries make reference to Tartarus"

Phantom noticed Wonder Womans eyes were wide and full of terror when she hard that name "i take it you know what that is Diana?" 

"the pit of lost souls" said Wonder Woman in horror 

"isn't that just a myth?" asked Superman as they watched Wonder Woman walk to a shelf 

"if only it were" said Wonder Woman looking at a vase that had an ancient Greek painting on it "long ago in ancient times my mother Hippolyta fell in love with a god lord Hades, when war broke out between the Olympian gods and their ancient foes the titans Hades struck a treasonous bargain with the enemy, he would deliver Mount Olympus into the titans hands, in return he would be given dominion over all humanity, Hades tricked my mother into opening the gates of Olympus to the invading titans there was a battle of which the muses still sing, the gods fought back and eventually prevailed as punishment for his treachery Zeus cast Hades into the pit of Tartarus where he would rule over the dead for all eternity, and for her unwitting role in Hades plot my mother was charged with guarding the gate way to the underworld, to make sure the gate could never be unlocked its only key was broken up and scattered across the globe, mother told me she kept one of the pieces in the temple, as a daily reminder of her eternal shame"
