"Make yourself comfy, I'll get us some snacks." Ariana steps out of her bedroom. I sit myself down at the edge of her bed. The air was enriched in a lilac scent. Not too strong, not too weak, but the perfect amount. The walls were dotted with small pictures of Ariana and her boyfriend. I scoff to myself.
Ariana was very organized. She kept her jewelry on a tray that sits on top of her dresser, right next to her television stand. Decorative vines crept down her walls, and splashes of sunlight filled the room from her sunroof.
"I'm baaaaack!" Ariana sung, entering the room with a bowl of popcorn and brownies, to which she placed onto the bed. I giggle and grab a brownie and munch on it softly.
"Wait, where is this brownie from? It's so good." I ask Ariana, still still eating the brownie.
"They're from my mom's job, her co-worker gave it to her." we sit on her bed
"Not so fast," she places her hand on top of mine, restricting me from grabbing more. "These are for after we read lines."
"Fine," I giggle, sheepishly. I pull my script out of my purse, before flipping around the pages. Ariana pulls a chair in front of me, before sitting down and placing her book onto her lap.
"Where shall we start?" she asks, placing her finger on the pages, skimming through.
"Definitely Act 1 Scene 4, the part where Stacy Smith is introduced to the plot." Ariana flips to the page, before clearing her throat.
"I'll read the narrator's lines." she starts. "Stacy Smith and Vonnie Lancaster weren't very fond of one another. It had all started back in middle school, when Stacy planted salt in Vonnie's water, making her puke in almost no time. From then on, Their minor disliking of one another built up to a major despising of one another. insignificant pranks turned into sabotage. So imagine the shock and disappointment Vonnie felt when Stacy would be her partner for the science fair."
The two of us ran lines from the script, and exchanging tips between one another.
"I can't imagine us being rivals like that." I tell her, while digging my hands into the bowl of popcorn and snacking on it.
"I can," she says. "Do something to piss me off, we have to get into spirit." she sips her soda.
"I don't know what kind of stuff pisses you off." I say.
She leans in with a whisper. "Do anything, I don't care." I hesitate, before lifting my hand off of my lap and slapping her left cheek. She stays in place, not reacting for a moment, before laughing. She planted a slap on my cheek in return.
"Slap me harder you priss." she laughs unstably in her seat. I swing my hand at her but end up missing her face.
Laughter fills the room again, and calms down to steady wheezes. Silence, before looks are shared between the two of us. Her angelic eyes pierced mine, and for a moment, I felt like I was floating.
"Wait..." Ariana interrupts the moment, sparking an infuriation in me. But I did my best to hide it.
"I think we might be high..." Ariana mutters, covering her mouth.
"How would that be possible?" I ask her, just as confused as whoever reads this.
"Those brownies, they're from my mom's job..." She still blurts regrettingly.
"And?" I rebute.
"The shit they have there is ALWAYS laced, so we're probably high,"
I look into Ariana's eyes, unable to read the signals. I couldn't tell if she was joking or not, but I internally prayed that she was. Silence took over the air of the room, before casual giggles erupt into fits of laughter. I'd never experience this before, but I'd remember it for the rest of my life.

Stepping into my home, I noticed all of the furniture unpacked and organized. Stained glass vases sat at the television console with colored-pansies fully grown inside of them.
"Hey, Cass." Michael marches up the stairs from the basement that situated his bedroom. I roll my eyes with a concealed chuckle, before tossing my keys into the glass holder on the table. Clink, clink. "Mom's upstairs waiting on you, she said she has some news,"
"Kay, thanks." I quickly brush past him, almost scraping shoulders. But in my head, I was downright anxious. The last time I'd heard those words from my brother, I was seconds away from hearing the worst news of my life-- I'd be moving to Florida.
