•I don't own Hetalia, if I did I wouldn't be writing this.

"America, I'm glad your awake. I missed you" England said softly as he hugged America. America smiled and hugged back stiffly, his arms hurt from not being used for so long.
"Hello..." America said, his voice was ragged and sore. He coughed to try and get rid of the feeling, it worked a little bit, although he could feel hi throat scrape slightly when he breathed.
"Are you feeling okay? You were asleep for quite a long time" England asked America.
"Yeah...I'm okay England" America said quietly. England patted Americas shoulder and left the room to phone the doctor and inform him, the doctor said he would be there soon and hung up. England walked back into the bedroom, opening the wardrobe and pulling out some clothes for him to wear.
"What are you doing?" America asked.
"I need to take a shower" England mumbled in response, he stepped into the bathroom and stripped before jumping in the shower, letting the hot water burn away the Frenchman's horrifying touch, there was still a small trail of blood flowing from him.

America wondered why England was covered in dirt and blood. What happened when he was unconscious? He was the hero, so he needed to find out and make it better as soon as possible. America blinked in shock, he remembered saying those words before: 'I'm the hero'. As his memory finally starting to mend? He hoped so, he wanted to remember everything that had happened. He wanted to see his kids...his kids! His little boys! He would need to go see them as soon as possible! England walked out of the bathroom in clothes much too big for him, they were obviously Americas. England walked with a slight limp, his body had small bruises on it that were sure to get bigger in a few days.
"Why are you walking like that? Why do you look like that?" America asked, his eyebrow cocked in suspicion. England sighed and sat on the edge of the bed, his back to Americas face, this simple action made America upset, why couldn't England look at him while e explained? Had the American done something wrong?
"France raped me" England said quietly, although loud enough for America to hear. America gasped in surprise and felt anger burn his stomach.
"Why!" America asked, his voice loud and curious.
"We got into a fight, one thing led to another...he dragged me to the bathroom..." England stopped talking, he didn't need to continue for America to know what had happened next. America leaned forward, wincing, and dragged England next to him, the Englishman did not complain.
"Don't worry, dude. The heroes gonna kick Frances ass" America muttered into England's ear, holding him close. England smiled at the familiar words, the old America was returning and England couldn't be happier about that. But England couldn't help but wonder if America would remember the hatred he had for the island nation, England hoped he didn't, it would ruin the bond they had just recovered. England smiled as he felt himself drift off to sleep, he hadn't had a good nights sleep for weeks and now that America was back it reassured him, he could sleep in peace, he wrapped his arms around America and fell asleep.

America heard the front door open and footsteps coming up the stairs. It was a doctor, probably the one that hooked up all the fancy machines to him. The doctor asked America questions: what can you remember? Do you have a headache? Can you move alright? America answered his questions and the doctor said he would no longer need to be connected to the machines. The doctor left and came back around an hour later, taking away the machines and leaving a wheelchair for America to use and a note for the sleeping England, the doctor tried to wake him but England was tired out and wouldn't be retuning to the land of the living any time soon. The doctor bid America farewell, the American yawned and snuggled into England, falling asleep.
