Friday nights used to be so lively.

Kurt would go out with his friends back in high school. They would sneak into a bar, with their crappy fake IDs.

Back when his life felt like a coming of age movie, back before it all came down in flames.

He jumped when he heard the knock on his door, for he had forgotten that Kade texted to say he was coming over. "Come in"

"Hey Bitch," Kade smiled, and tossed a leather jacket at his friend, "We are going out."

"What?" Kurt laughed, "We already went out this week!"

"Yeah, but now it's Friday night. They were like, made for going out. And you're not arguing with me, I'm not accepting it.

Kurt laughed and looked at the leather jacket in his arms. It was dark blue, and matched perfectly with his new black shirt and black leather pants. He sighed, "Fine, but only because this jacket is fire."

"Yes!" Kade punched his fist in the air, "I knew you would like. Go get dressed my friend, we're gonna have the night of our lives!"

-

The two friends got in their cab, and were making small talk.

"I had Panera for lunch-"

"Oh cut the bullshit," Kade laughed, "Tell me about Blaine. You totally like him."

Kurt gave his friend a look and laughed and his bluntness. "What about Blaine?"

"Come on! You were making heart eyes at him on Tuesday!"

"Was not..." The pale boy turned red as he played with the zipper on his jacket.

"You look like a friggin tomato, just tell me!"

Kurt smiled shyly, "Okay...Well...We may have hooked up..."

"Ooh!!" Kade smiled.

"You didn't let me finish," Kurt looked down, "We hooked up before his accident, when he still had his hearing. He's adapting to this new world. I don't want to complicate his experience. He should focus on him, until he's ready."

"Aww, you're so noble," Kade gave his friend's hand a squeeze. "His brother was super cute too. I don't know if he's gay or not, though. He kinda gives off that bi-vibe, but I don't wanna assume and freak him out."

"You know, he works at a bar." The pale boy smiled brightly and leaned forward to talk to the cab driver, "Hey! Can you bring us to the Rustic Roof?"

"Oh hell yes," Kade smiled, "I'm gonna flirt my ass off."

Kurt laughed, and looked at his friend, "You know, for such a small boy, you have big aspirations."

"That's my charm darling," he winked.

-

The pair arrived at the bar, and Kade took a deep breath. "How do I look? Do I look hot?"

Kurt smiled, "Yes. Go get him. I'm gonna sit at a booth and drink. I'm your wingman if you need."

The freckled boy smiled nervously, "I might have to take you up on that. I'm kinda regretting this now, what if I crash and burn-" Backing into the bar, he ran into Cooper himself.

"Oh hey!" Cooper smiled nervously down at the boy. Suddenly, his hands got clammy again.

"H-Hey. I didn't know you worked here."

Cooper gave him a weird look, "I'm not working right now? I'm not behind the bar."

Kade's eyes widened, "RIGHT! Right, what I meant to say was, I didn't know you were gonna be here. Gonna."

Kurt smiled softly at the two, and headed to his own little corner.

Cooper smiled kindly, "Sure. But yeah, I do work here. I start in about five minutes, but I can start earlier if you want me to get you a drink."

"Yes! Yeah, that'd be great." Kade's hazel eyes lit up as he sat at a barstool.

Copper smiled brightly and ran behind the counter, then leaned across it. Finally, he was able to woo the boy while he was in his element.

Before they knew it, they had been talking and laughing for an hour. Kade was flirting heavily, and Cooper was sweating. He'd never felt this way before, and he wanted to do it right.

"Are you okay?" Kade asked.

"Fine," Cooper said, "You're just really gorgeous. I'm afraid to say the wrong thing."

The small boy's ears got hot and he looked down, "Oh thank god, I wasn't sure if you were into guys, and I was flirting all night for nothing."

Cooper lifted Kade's chin up gently by the tips of his fingers and said softly, "Definitely not for nothing."

-

In his own little booth, Kurt was enjoying himself. He loved just sitting to himself, and watching the bar come to life with a nice cold beverage. His phone dinged, and he looked down.

It was from an unknown number, which was even more strange.

Unknown Number

I know who you really are.

Kurt choked on his drink. No... He thought, This can't be happening. He quickly typed,

Kurt

Who is this?

Unknown Number

I know what you've done.

The boy quickly blocked the number and shut his phone down, mumbling, "I'm gonna need more alcohol."
