The Titans loomed on the horizon, their grotesque forms inching closer with each passing second. My gaze was unwavering, fixed on the approaching threat with a mix of revulsion and steely resolve. It was as if the nightmares of five years ago had come alive again, but this time, something had changed—I had.

Gone was the helplessness of the past. Now, I stood grounded, a fierce determination blazing in my eyes. I wasn't running this time. I wasn't watching from the sidelines. I had the power to protect. No longer a passive observer, I was ready to fight, to save. Fear was a distant memory. I was prepared to stand firm, to defend, to fight.

The wall had been breached. My voice cut through the chaos like a blade. "The Titans have breached the wall!"

Eren, always driven by his relentless will, was already gearing up for battle. I grabbed his wrist, my tone insistent yet tinged with desperation. "Eren, get to safety. I can't lose you. Not now, not ever. Please, just—"

"I don't want to lose anyone either," he snapped, his voice fierce with a mix of anger and resolve. "That's why I have to fight! I'm a soldier. If I die, then so be it."

He shook off my hand, his gaze unwavering. Before I could protest further, a commanding officer from the garrison regiment appeared, cutting through our heated exchange with authoritative precision. Eren, Connie, and I saluted sharply, though the officer's next words were far from what we had hoped.

"Don't just stand there! Get back to HQ and stick to the plan!"

The urgency in his voice jolted us into action. Connie managed a quick, grateful nod. "Thank you. Good luck, sir."

The evacuation bell's clang rang out, the signal for the city's frantic scramble. As I sprinted toward HQ, the scene outside was a cacophony of terror. People fled in every direction, their faces etched with panic. It was a haunting echo of the past, but this time, the stakes were higher. We were on the brink of losing everything.

I couldn't bear the thought of losing anyone. The weight of the situation pressed heavily on me, especially when I saw Eren—my closest friend—moving amidst the chaos. I was determined to keep him safe, just as I was for Mikasa, Armin, and everyone else who mattered.

Arriving at headquarters, I quickly spotted Armin, his hands trembling as he struggled with his 3DMG. I approached him, my voice soft but steady. "Armin?"

He looked up, his eyes wide and vulnerable, like a wounded animal. "We don't have the means to seal the breach. We lack the technology to move the boulder needed to block the wall. It's only a matter of time before the Titans invade. We might have to abandon the city. The Titans—"

I interrupted him gently, pulling him into a warm embrace. "It's okay. We'll find a way. As long as we believe, we can hold them off. We've faced worse. Have faith, Armin. I'll protect you, and everyone else. You're not alone in this."

Eren approached us, his expression serious but filled with a hard-earned confidence. "Things are different now, Armin. We can win this."

Armin's trembling lessened, the warmth of our support easing his fears. He pulled back slightly, his relief palpable. "I'm sorry. I'm okay now. Thank you, Y/N."

He wrapped his arms around me in return, the gesture a silent promise of mutual support. I looked around, my gaze firm. "We can't stay like this forever. We have Titans to fight, remember?"

I offered a reassuring smile as I helped Armin to his feet. "Let's go."

We exited HQ, quickly joining the battle strategy meeting. The commander's voice was authoritative, slicing through the tension with sharp precision.

"Split into teams as the garrison regiment commands. Follow the plan we made. Reform supply and information routes as you deal with any Titans you encounter. The garrison's vanguard will lead, the cadets will follow the middle guard, and the elite will form the rear guard. The defenses at the front line have been obliterated, allowing the Titans to break through and reach the town. The Armored Titan could appear at any moment and destroy Wall Rose!"

The room fell silent as fear gripped us. Whispers of disbelief and dread filled the air. One recruit's voice broke through the tension, "You've got to be kidding."

"No way," another muttered, their face pale with realization.

The commander's voice cut through the murmurs, firm and unyielding. "Attention! The vanguard is currently engaged with the Titans. Your sole objective is to protect the wall until the evacuation is complete. Remember, fleeing from the enemy is punishable by death. Offer up your lives as needed. Dismissed."

As the meeting ended, we were left with the harsh reality of our situation. Each of us faced the daunting task ahead, knowing that our strength and unity would be our greatest assets. The time for hesitation had passed. The battle for humanity's survival was about to begi
