Prologue
Addilynn sat in class, tapping her pen away at the desk in front of her. Bored out of her mind she zoned in and out of Biology, while her teacher passionately talked about evolution. She propped her elbow up on the desk, face resting against her hand, looking out of the window. Throughout the day, it occurred in Addilynn's mind, how much she missed her parents who were back in England. However, she was out in Australia, Melbourne to be precise, living in a boarding house with twenty other girls on the school campus.
But not to Addilynn's knowledge this was all about to change in the summer of 1993.
Wednesday morning rolled around faster than Addilynn predicted. She lay in her bed, sprawled out with the sheets, she used to keep her warm, spread out around her. The sun peaked through the slight gap in the curtains landing straight onto the girl's face. A groan came out of her body, before she sat up straight, adjusting her eyes to the light in the room. Standing up slowly, Addilynn eventually made her way to open the curtains which revealed Castle Combe. Castle Combe is a tiny village in England, where Natalie and Oliver reside. The town is tiny enough for Addilynn to see the countryside past the village which seemed to lead to a new adventure. But under strict conditions, to spend the summer with her parents, she wasn't allowed to do anything which put herself in danger, not that she would anyway.
Slowly making her way down the stairs, she saw her mum drinking tea and reading a newspaper, which she was unfamiliar with. "The daily prophet", Addilynn said making her mum snap her head up. Her eyes met her daughters hazel ones before quickly shutting it close and hiding it out of site. Adjusting herself, Natalia greeted her daughter a good morning before making her way upstairs. A confused look spread over the 15 year old and to make her even more confused her dad was no where to be seen. This was weird behaviour from both of her parents, they were never this civilised with her, well her mum. But, her dad always greeted her with a hug before heading out to whatever he needed to attend to, because it showed Addilynn how much he cared about her. But in spite of it being the summer holidays and Addilynn got to spend it with her parents, not in Australia with some school girls, it was enough to get over the fact that they were acting somewhat odd in her opinion.
Addilyn sat pearched on the couch with a book in between her legs and hands gripping it at the sides to keep it in place. She was currently reading The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe written by C.S Lewis. She believed that reading enhanced the growth of the brain and it was also a way to escape the outside world when needed. Suddenly the door opened, Addilynn lefted her head up to see her dad with an elderly man. To Addilynn's memory she couldn't recall whether she had met this man before or not.
"Ah Addie your up", her dad spoke.
Addie was the nickname which was given to her since before she could walk. It just helped simplify her name when people didn't want to say her full name Addilynn.
"I've been up for a while", looking over at the clock she saw it was two in the afternoon. "For four hours", she stated before going back to read her book.
"Uh yes well I'm sorry I missed you this morning, however I had an important errand to run this morning". There was a pause for a moment, which caused Addilynn to furrow her eyebrows. "This is Albus Dumbledore, but you can just address him as Professer Dumbledore", he continued.
Addilynn nodded, waiting for more to be said, but none was. Instead both of them continued to make their way upstairs to where her mum had gone earlier. This time it did not slip Addilynn's mind that there was something odd going on. She tried to think where she had seen him before. Closing her eyes Addilynn attempted to go back through her memories, but nothing. "Why can't my parents just be honest and open with me like normal parents", she whined to herself. Opening her book back open again, she dived back into the winter wonderland enclosed in a closet. Now was a perfect time to escape reality.
"Addilynn", a voice said softly.
Addilynn finished reading the sentence she was on before placing a bookmark in her book and closing it. Looking up she saw her mum looking at her wih Professor Dumbledore and her dad standing behind the kitchen counter.
"Yes Mum?", she genuinely asked. This whole morning had been to confusing for Addilynn to handle. She didn't want any stress before she had to go back to Australia next week. All she asked for was a relaxing summer, but there was a gut feeling inside that told her differently.
"I don't really know where to start", Natalia began. "Maybe save questions for the end, that you can give to Albus?", she suggested. Addilynn nodded, keen to know what this whole morning had been about.
"First let me apologise for our sudden odd behaviour this morning. We needed to organise a few things before we told you".
Addilynn confused as ever leaned back into the sofa, pulling her legs up to rest beside her. This indicated to her mum to carry on.
"You will not be attending St. Andrews in Australia anymore. You will be attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardery in Scotland instead".

Honestly I don't know how I feel about this chapter. However, it is my first time attempting something like this so please barewith me. Hopefully as the story goes on it will be easier to write as I need to set it up before anything extreme will happen. Hope your all having a wonderful day. Best wishes
