Prologue

"Are you ready?" I opened  my eyes when I heard my dad. He walked to me and I saw a glimpse of tears on the side of his eyes. I smiled at him gently and hugged him.

"Dad..." Mahinang bulong ko para mapigilan ang malakas na pag-iyak ko.

"I am sorry, anak. I know you didn't want this." Kinalas niya ang yakap sa akin at marahan na pinunasan ang mga luha ko dahil baka masira ang make-up ko.

"Dad... It's okay. It's fine with me. It's an agreement and I want to save the company that you and mom worked hard for. That's the only thing that she left... and I don't want to lose it too."

If this marriage could save my parents' hard work, then it's fine with me. I also see this marriage as a fate or maybe hope? This is my fate I guess. I think I am not capable to love anymore because of my past relationship. 

But...maybe. Maybe this marriage would work. I'll do my best to work this marriage.  I'll try my best to love and to have a good relationship with my soon to be husband.

Aside from saving my parents' company, I think this marriage can help me to love again. I think this can help me to forget my love for him. 

I am outside at the church already. Waiting for a signal to finally open the door and to start the ceremony.

I haven't seen my future husband yet. Is this a kind of surprise wedding? I don't know.

But I know he is a good man. After all, hindi naman ako basta lang ipamimigay ni Dad sa hindi kabaitang lalaki.

Sinenyasan na ako ng babae na maghanda dahil malapit nang magsimula.

Nang buksan na ang pinto ay naglakad ako ng dahan dahan habang akay ni Dad. I can't help but to cry. I am not sad. But I am not that very happy too.

Nang malapit na sa altar ay nakita ko ang lalaking nag-iintay sa akin. Mixed emotions immediately filled my system.

Kaba? Saya? Pangungulila? Lungkot? Hindi ko alam.

Ngumiti ako ng malawak at pinahid ang mumunting luha sa gilid ng aking mata at saka mas lalong lumapit. 

Nang tuluyang makaharap sa kaniya ay nakita ko ang ngiti niya sa akin at narinig ko ang mahina niyang bulong.

"I told you. You'll meet me at the end of the aisle."
