over the next few days, the school saw ricky, gina and nini back to how they were, except now, gina and nini were even closer and acted like they were best friends.

nini's friend group were all confused as to how the situation was fixed so easily. the three as well as ashlyn simply said that they talked it out and it was all a misunderstanding, without actually explaining the situation. nini, ricky and ashlyn all told gina that they would keep her secret until she was ready to tell the others herself.

nini and ricky decided it was also time to merge their groups. it wasn't really that hard since they all knew each other already, and so far, it was going smoothly.

"okay, so, help me out here," cyrus says as he takes his phone out to show the group.

they all stop eating and look at him, waiting to see what he was going to show them

cyrus goes on his camera roll and shows it to them "khakis? corduroys?" he asks as he swipes the picture left and right "khakis? corduroys? take your time-"

"khakis." the girls, carlos and seb say at the same time

ej, big red, tj and ricky look at them in confusion and shrug their shoulders

"okay," cyrus nods as he swallows his food "now, green khakis? or khaki-khakis?"

"khaki khakis." ashlyn answers

he looks at the others, who all nod in agreement and he smiles "perfect!"

"what is it for?" tj asks

"my parents are having this social dinner thing. it's pretty boring. usually it starts off with them talking about a business and then having old guests. i don't know, i always zone out." he says with a shrug

"well, maybe just invite someone to come with you?" seb suggests

gina and nini exchange smirks and they nod

"like tj," they say

the boy widens his eyes and gives them a look before cyrus turns to him

"will you come? it'll be so much more fun!" he exclaims

tj sighs and nods "yeah sure."

cyrus claps his hands happily and tj looks at gina and nini, who mouthed 'you're welcome'

he rolls his eyes as they all continue to eat their food

when the bell rings, they all get up to go their separate ways and nini notices gina on her phone sighing

"what's up?" she asks

gina turns her phone off and shakes her head "nothing."

nini raises her eyebrows and gina takes a deep breath

"my paycheck from my job hasn't come in yet," she whispers "and the landlord for the rent is being so strict, it's just a lot."

a frown forms on her face as nini looks around the hall, making sure no one was listening

"do you need me to help-"

gina quickly shakes her head "no neens. i have to learn how to do this on my own."

nini takes a deep breath and nods as they continue their way down the hall.

when nini arrived home that afternoon, she quickly went upstairs and laid down on her bed before hearing a facetime call from madison

"hey mads." nini sighs

"not exactly the hello i expect from my best friend." madison chuckles

the brunette girl smiles "sorry, i just have something on my mind."

"and that is?"

nini takes a deep breath and explains everything to madison. she knew that she wouldn't go telling other people.

"wow. that's tough." madison frowns

nini nods "yeah. and i feel like there's something i could do. ricky's helping her, but it's not enough and i know that i could help,"

madison thinks about it for a second "wait. don't you guys have a guest room in your house?"

nini nods "yeah."

"and gina needs a place to stay where she won't get kicked out right?"

the brunette girl widens her eyes and sits up abruptly "oh my god!"

nini ran down the staircase to find her moms in the kitchen

"what's up with you honey?"

"would you guys let gina live here?" she asks, straight to the point

the two women exchange looks of surprise and back to their daughter

"what?"

"gina. remember i told you guys about her situation yesterday, and you guys said that if there was any way we could help, then we would-"

"yes, but i don't think it's that simple honey," carol says

"but shes emancipated! that means that she doesn't have or need a legal guardian to live with, meaning we don't have to 'adopt her' or anything like that. she could literally just live here and even keep her job as money for herself." nini exclaims

carol and dana exchange looks before dana nods with a small smile

carol takes a deep breath and nods as well "alright. if it's okay with her, then we would love to have her stay with us."

nini squeals in excitement as she runs over to her moms to give her big hugs

"thank you moms."

they both laugh as they watch her run out of the kitchen, grabbing her bag and bolting out of the door,

nini ran to ricky's house, since she needed to talk about the plan she had in mind to him.

she arrives after 10 minutes and quickly knocks on the door

it opens to reveal a tall man with a firm expression on his face

"i found a-" nini widens her eyes when she realizes it's not ricky "oh! uh-h-hi!"

the man folds his arms "who are you?"

"i-uh-i'm ricky's girlfriend, y-you must be his dad."

nini holds her hand out and he looks at it before turning around and calling ricky

she awkwardly drops her arm to the side of her body and ricky runs downstairs in confusion as to why his dad would actually be talking or acknowledging him

"some girl is here for you." he says simply, walking past him

ricky lets out a breath of relief and slowly walks to the front door to see nini standing there nervously

"what are you doing here?" he whispers as he looks back inside his house

"i found a way to help gina!" she exclaims happily

ricky lifts an eyebrow and takes a deep breath before looking back and taking his keys, closing the door behind him

the two start walking down the sidewalk as nini explains everything to him and a large smile grows on his face

"that's amazing neens. but, will she let you?"

nini smirks "i have that covered."
