 * Elizabeth's POV *

I eyed him as he grabbed his pack and put out the fire, Once he was done he looked up and cleared his throat. "Crap", I muttered as he caught me starring. " Let's go, he hummed ". He turned to start walking and I followed behind him keeping a distance. I knew I had no chance in out running him. If he is anything like how he used to be in high school, it would be pointless. He could out run half the football team and track team combined, David was always fast I couldn't help think maybe it was because he had to be. I heard rumors about his father being abusive to him and his mother. Maybe running was one of his ways of escaping. " hmm ", He cleared his throat again. I looked up, I must of not been paying attention considering I just ran into his chest. I looked up at him shocked. " Maybe instead of looking at the ground, pay attention keeping your eyes in front of you " , He whispered. I nodded and rolled my eyes not really caring and we continued to trend upward on the mountain up river. I looked at the moving stream, despite the the rough waters the water was some of the cleanest water I have ever seen. I stopped for a moment admiring the scenery around me but of course David or Noah whoever he is at this point in time brought me back to focus with his sarcastic remarks. " If you keep stopping we will never get to where I need us to go " He muttered annoyed. " I was just looking at how clean the water is. " I responded irritated. " Don't you want to take a moment to enjoy the scenery, after all I highly doubt they have very much to look at in the psych ward " I said being a smartass and boy was that a mistake. Next thing I know I was being thrown up against a tree with knife up against my throat. " Your right there wasn't much to look at, after all your the reason I was stuck there for so long ", he breathed roughly. " I would watch what you say " he continued and loosened his grip putting the knife away. " Or what?, I sassed him " " Your either really brave or stupid " He muttered.

* David/Noah POV*

She is really testy. I haven't even met anyone in the hospital who wasn't afraid of me. Sure she was brave but that made her a easy target. " Ok and your point ? You don't scare me I don't care if you have five different persona's no one will ever make feel low of myself not even you ", She said in a clear and firm tone. I couldn't help but laugh, My loudness echoing the wooded area. I proceeded towards her " You are quite entertaining when pissed " I smiled. " But if I we- * SMACK * Just as I was about to continue a loud smack across my face. Holy shit this girl can hit. In that moment I wanted to do exactly what I came here for but I could feel David suppressing my rage. I could feel my eyes darkening to a even darker shade of blue but they never left he brown ones. " Lets go now, I spoke trying to control my tone " I turned to walk and heard her foot steps following loudly behind me. " She's going to be a lot of fun " I thought to David. " Only for you, he echoed back internally rolling his eyes".

* 3hrs later.. *

"Are we getting close to where we need to go", Elizabeth asked breaking the silence and got nothing in return. " Hello, we've been hiking for hours " . He ignored her again. " DAVID ! " she shouted stopping her place. " What " he finally spoke. She stood shocked not sure if she was really speaking to David or his persona. " Can we please take a break from walking " she spoke. He didn't respond he just set his pack down pulled out his flask of water and handed it to her. " Uh... Thanks " she said awkwardly. She observed there surrounding taking in the beautiful scenery yet again as she sat down on a nearby rock. She then looked down at her clothes. Her black jeans and shirt where covered in dirt. " Oh what I'd give for a hot shower " , she thought to herself. " I guess beggars cant be choosers " she said to herself putting the flask down by the rock and headed over to the river and began to rinse her arms off. She jumped hearing David clear his throat. " We will stop here for tonight ". I will begin setting up the tent, I'm trusting you to find some dry twigs and branches to help start a fire " he continued. She blinked, confused before finally speaking. " Um, ok " she spoke. She got up and dusted her pants legs off and then looked around the area. Slowly picking up dry grass to inspecting it to make she it had no green left. She learned when she was younger that dry dead things burned better then fresh and green. She continued collecting branches, twigs and wood when she was startled by cracking in the bushes a head of her. She looked up to see which direction it came from finally spotting the culprit. " A fawn " she whispered. She continued to look around finally noticing the Doe with in distance. She watched as they grazed in the small open area then proceeded to look for more wood. She walked back over to where David was and dropped the pile of stuff he needed making a loud sound which caught his attention. " Done, she said with a sarcastic smirk on her face " He just glared at her. " She is making it really impossible for me to keep Noah from hurting her, David thought to himself ". " Very difficult " he Spoke aloud. " Very difficult indeed " he said again.
