"Uh...a wedding?" Citadel ask, skeptically, having had regained his sanity.
You give him a judgmental look. "He just told us he's our secret cousin and that Pink faked her shattering and you're hung up about the wedding part?" You ask.
"I mean...it's cute and all, but...still...a wedding?" He asked. You elbowed him in the gut. Steven laughed awkwardly while Citadel groaned in pain.
"I apologize for Citadel. I think a wedding is an excellent idea. Though, I would be careful. I wouldn't be surprised if Yellow and my mother were to show up for the cluster."
Steven's eyes widen. "You...you say that as if you guys aren't coming." Steven said.
You and Citadel shared a look. "We're invited? We've barely even known each other for a day and half-" Citadel's sentence was abruptly cut off with another jab in the gut from you.
"Well, of course you're invited! You guys are family!" Steven said cheerfully. To be honest, you didn't think they talked enough about the whole 'family' thing- they'd been cousins all along, with Pink Diamond's gem right beneath their noses- yet the wedding seemed more interesting.
"Steven, it's a nice thought, but we have duties of our own." You say. Citadel snickered. "Heh. You said 'duties'." Ignoring him, you turned back to Steven.
"What I'm saying is I find comfort in knowing there are gems...even diamonds like myself and your mother who still appreciate the Earth, but we aren't like you, Steven."
Steven scrunched his eyebrows in confusion. "W-w-what do you mean? You aren't going to leave and let the diamonds destroy this place, are you?"
You shook your head. "Of course not. I deplore the idea of wiping out organic life. What I'm saying is that I cannot simply change alliances." You explain.
"I will do everything I can to stop the destruction of the Earth- you may proceed as planned and carry on with your wedding as you wish, but I am not on Earth to partake. We came here to run an errand before the Earth is destroyed." You say.
Steven sighed. "I get it, I get it. I just...when I found out we were family, I just wanted to do something all together, and, maybe if you come to Ruby and Sapphire's wedding, the other gems' feel that towards you too... wait, 'errand'? What errand?"
You shared a glance with Citadel. "We wanna find our little cousin, Minerva. She's younger than you, Steven!" Citadel said. "We lost her a couple months ago...on this planet. She hasn't gotten a ship yet. We're certain she's still on Earth...unless she's been eaten."
Steven gasped, then grinned. "What...are you smiling about?" You ask, skeptically. "Maybe I can help you find Minerva! After all, if she's your cousin, that means she's also MY cousin and- wait. Yellow Diamond has a child? Who's younger than me?" Steven gasped.
You nodded. "She's seven." Steven began to panic. He seemed to do a lot of that. "And she's LOST on EARTH? We have to go find her!"
You blinked. "Yes, that's what we were talking about. We believe she may have tried to find her way back to her home country- Brazil. We first lost her in Argentina."
"We've scanned Argentina up and down. She isn't there. Argentina is a nice country though." Nodded Citadel, smiling. You almost chuckled at him, but couldn't bring yourself to.
You pictured Minerva in your mind. Always wearing her black cowboy hat, she was. she hat short black hair with yellow highlights, tan skin, ever-so-rosy cheeks and big, round amber eyes.
What did she look like now?
Oh, how you hoped she was safe, warm, happy... with friends and food...was that too much to ask? To you, She was more like a baby sister than a baby cousin and more like a daughter than a baby sister.
Your mother and hers had a lot of work on their shoulders- more than you had. So when you were free, your little cousin would nag you nonstop- asking you to play with her.
You and Citadel were on a planetary expedition when you lost her. You'd taken a few gems under your command and that was supposed to be it.
You flew your mother's hand ship with ease, unlike your cousin, who struggled with his mother's torso ship, so she allowed you to take it. Of course, that ship is much easier to stow away on, as demonstrated by your carelessly adorable younger cousin when you found her going through your digital files.
You had no other choice but to give her a game to play with while you worked, and when you landed on Earth, in Argentina, she practically begged you and Citadel to come play with her.
Citadel was busy doing ground work and you were busy running scans and collecting data, so, bored and annoyed at you for paying no attention to her, Minerva dropped to the floor and whined the day away.
You grew annoyed in about 15 minutes and asked her just what in the stars did she want from you. Her eyes sparkled as she begged you to bring her to Brazil, her home country.
You sighed. When she was four, you told Minerva where you found her as an infant, and ever since then, she forced you to teach her to speak Portuguese.
"I wanna go to Brazil! I want you and Citadel to play with me! We could be having so much fun but all you two wanna do is work, work, work!"
Next time, Minerva, I'll take you to Brazil, and I'll play a game with you.
