Chapter 5: Shopping

Emily's POV

"Em," said my mother.

"Yes, Mom?" I asked.

"Tomorrow there is a ball, and we have to go because it's important for your dad. So please go shopping with your friends," Mom explained.

"Ugh, Mom, you know I don't like these types of parties," I replied. There are always filthy rich people who seize every opportunity to bring someone down.

"Yes, sweetie, I know, but it's important, so you and Xavier have to go. Please," Mom insisted.

"Okay, Mom, I'll text them," I said, and she left my room. After a boring day at school, now I had to go shopping. I mean, can't a girl get a little rest? It’s not that I dislike shopping, but going with Chloe and Rose is a different experience altogether. Well, back to business.

Guys!

Rose
What?

Chloe
Yup!

Emily
You guys are going to the ball?

Chloe
Yes! And now we all need to go shopping!

Rose
Yes, we totally need it to look beautiful! We should also go to the spa.

Emily
Yes... :(

Chloe
Aww, don’t be rude! We’re going to have fun. Can Lily come with us since she has no company?

Rose
Yes, she can join us! It’ll be more fun.

Emily
Okay, so let's meet at my house at 5:30, and we’ll go together.

Chloe
Yep..

After I put my phone down, I went to take a nap. At exactly 5:30, they arrived, and we set off to go shopping together.

"Hey!" said Lily.

"Hi," we replied and then got into Lily's car. We started playing music and singing, and after a while, we arrived at our shopping destination.

"Guys, look at this!" said Chloe.

"No!" I said.

"Yes!" replied Rose and Lily. Chloe glanced at me and silently asked for my opinion.

"Um, it's okay. Not too bad, not too good," I replied honestly. I didn't want to hurt their feelings since both Rose and Lily looked pleadingly at me.

"Okay, let's settle on this. If I can't find my perfect dress, then this will do," said Chloe.

"Okay," said Lily and Rose.

We continued searching for a dress for Lily. We had two options: one that Rose and I liked and another that Chloe preferred, so we were stuck again.

"Hey, Chloe, go try on the second dress that you like," I suggested, pointing to Lily’s second option.

"Okay," she agreed and went to change. After a few minutes, she emerged, and she looked beautiful!

"Wow!" "You're looking gorgeous!" "It's perfect!" we exclaimed.

"Yeah, it's beautiful, so I assume this is the one," Chloe said, to which we all nodded.

"Then I’m guessing I’ll take the first one," said Lily.

"Yay!" we replied.

"Now we need to find dresses for Rose and Emily," said Chloe, as we turned our attention to me.

"Hey, guys, stop!" said Rose, catching our attention.

"I think I found my dress!" she said happily.

"Okay, go try it on," Lily encouraged. While Rose went to change, we began searching for a dress for me. After a few minutes, she came out.
