"This class is riddikulus"
*****
"Y/n?"
I could hear her hushed shouts clearly, Pansy had been trying to wake me up for around 5 minutes now but I was not in the mood for, well, anything really.
"Y/n!" I felt the brunette grab ahold of my shoulders and violently shake me. I wasn't a morning person at the best of times, and Pansy knew this. I knew if I didn't get myself up and ready soon, I wouldn't have time to eat breakfast, which at this current moment, was the only thing that stood a chance of improving my mood.
"Okay, okay!" I sighed, finally rolling over in my emerald green clad bed to face her, my eyes immediately shutting due to the sun light coming through the window. "What's the time?" I sat up, ignoring the dizziness that took over my body and reaching up to rubbing my tired eyes.
"8:41, so get up!" Once again she got a grip on my shoulders and hoisted me out of bed. "Can I meet you at breakfast y/n? I'm so hungry I don't think I can wait any longer" she was already making her way to the door that led out to the common room, a guilty smile on her face as though she didn't want to leave me alone.
"I'll be down in five Pans" I tiredly shot her a grin, and with that, she hurriedly skipped down to the great hall with a spring in her step. Why was she so joyful this morning?
Five minutes wasn't enough time to make myself look presentable in any way, shape or form. So I accepted that and instead, I splashed my face with cold water, threw my hair into a (very) messy bun on top of my head and brushed my teeth. Looking into the mirror I almost wanted to climb back into bed and sleep the day away, but I couldn't miss classes, despite how sleep deprived I felt. I got dressed into my clean, pristine Slytherin uniform, grabbing my robe and threw it over my shoulders and then my satchel just before heading down the stairs into the common room, which was completely empty. Once again, I regretted not being able to take full advantage of the quiet space.
It had now been weeks since my encounter with Draco in the hospital wing. And it was almost as if we had gone back to square one with each other. He had even stopped making snarky comments towards me, not even sparing me an eye roll. Surprisingly, I sometimes missed it. I really didn't think I would, but it was only now that it was gone, that I realised how much I enjoyed our endless bickering, it kept my days full of surprises.
The tiny amount of progress we had made after I awoke with my head on his hospital bed that night, all for nothing. He avoided my eyes at all times and I was beginning to forget what his looked like. I finally felt like I could call him a friend, and now that was gone. It was always one step forward and two steps back with us.
The other Slytherins had definitely picked up on our change in behaviour too, nobody asked about it, but it didn't take a genius to feel the tension between me and Draco when we were in the same room.
Speaking of the other Slytherins, as I entered the great hall, with 9 minutes to eat my breakfast, a few of their heads turned around. Which was normal, a few greeted me and few just smiled my way.
However there was one, almost unfamiliar, face within them all. The familiar floppy mop of platinum hair swished with the sudden movement of Dracos head as he jerked around in his seat to, after what felt like years, meet my gaze. I stopped in my tracks, for he had caught me off guard. His face was soft, but not bearing a smile or his signature smirk. Just blank, but not a harsh, cold blank either. We stayed like that, for what I'd guess was only a couple of seconds, but in that short time Pansy had seen me and was now pulling me down into the seat next to her. I didn't know whether to say hello to him, I almost wanted him to make the first move, but that was my stubborn side taking control.
