The monorail stopped before a set of stone pillars with a large sign above that stated this was the visitors center. We all exited the train and followed the paved path to a bungalow looking building. The roof was made up of pyramids of glass and thick bars.
We entered the large double doors feeling a cool breeze from the air conditioning on blast. The floor was made of polished marble, along with the pillars centered between two staircases that led to the second floor. Straight ahead between the pillars dangling in the air was an enormous hanging bone display of a T-rex taking a bite our of a stegosaurus. Below the bones and past the pillars were a pair of doors labeled as dining room. To the left and right were dinosaur exhibits that were incomplete.
Plywood, and sheets of metal, and all kinds of wiring were piled or stacked on either side of scaffolding. We followed Coran up the stairs where we passed a set of doors with key card locks.
Coran stepped up to the security desk beside the doors and flashed his park ID to the security guard. Who used his card to open the doors allowing us entry.
"Pretty tight on security." Griffin mumbled.
"My dad is the head of security here. He took all of the latest technology and made a bad-ass system. Ain't no way you are getting in those rooms without authorization." Kinkade shook his head.
We followed Shiro and Coran to a small theater where we took our seats and sat through a short clip explaining the genetic splicing and mutating process the scientists went through to create dinosaurs.
A million questions buzzed in my head as we filed into the labs keeping at a safe distance.
"So how do you know what dinosaur you're gonna get?" Lance asked staring at a beaker with clear liquid suspiciously.
"I can answer that." Ina smirked.
"So can I." Pidge pouted.
"How about I explain that?" An older man with graying hair and mustache and glasses patted Pidge's head.
"Campers, this is Dr. Sam Holt. He is the miracle worker of Jurassic Park." Coran introduced him.
"I don't know about miracle worker, but anything is possible with science." He smiled and began to explain his process.
I tuned him out as I spotted a section of the lab closed off by glass. There were two large tanks with dome lids on top. The room was labeled Frozen Embryo Storage. Beside that room were a set of double doors with red light shining through the windows.
"That's where we keep the frozen embryos of the different species. Beside that we have the nursery where we have special plastic eggs to hold the baby dinosaurs. The temperature in there is very damp and heavy. We have to keep the temperature high to mimic the atmosphere of the Jurassic period. We can only go in for a few minutes at a time before feeling faint." Dr. Holt explained.
I glanced over to see the freckled girl Ina, really interested in the frozen embryo chamber. Her round eyes examined then locking mechanism on the sliding door.
Much like Pidge from what I gathered. She was highly intelligent. She knew a lot about the science behind the park, and a lot about their computer systems.
"How do you know so much about the park?" Pidge questioned.
"My father is the IT Manager. He is in charge of keeping the park automated. It's a lot of debugging systems and setting up all kinds of fire walls in the coding for protection." Ina began before turning back to Dr. Holt as he opened the doors to the nursery.
Inside as expected was very damp from the humidity but the oxygen seemed thicker and heavier. I was already sweating just stepping into the room. The lights overhead were all red heated lamps.
