chapter 15~the final frontier.
On the 3rd night, at around 3.30 am, Damon, Matt and I were sleeping away when the alarm was triggered. I grabbed the weapons from my closet and we all darted downstairs. Everyone was gathered in the hallway when a brick came through the door. Everyone ducked. Game on. I was first up, with a wolfs bane/vervain grenade which meant I had to leave the safety of my home to go out onto my work and toss the grenade into the forest. I stepped forward and was grabbed by Damon. He kissed me hard and once again, told me he loved me. I walked slowly and carefully outside. The Originals stood in a line beside me. I spotted a hybrid and lightening quick, pulled the pin out of the grenade and threw it at him/her (it was hard to tell with it being so dark). I hit him - his cry of pain was most definitely male - and Elijah darted over. I lokked away as he cut his head off with an axe. Ick.
And so the battle began. Using similar methods to the first kill, we took down every hybrid besides Tyler. We mostly stuck to the procedure 'spot, grenade, chop' as I called it. Afterwards, we gathered inside and went to bed. Rebekah and Kol said they would stay up to watch for attackers but there were none.
When I awoke the next morning, my family were back and the only one of my second family that stayed was Damon. "Hey", he whispered. "Hey", I smiled. "Its over babe. Now we can be free and be together forever. I love you so much", Damon smiled back. I wiped away the stray tear from his cheek and kissed him gently. "I love you to. Ive never felt like this about anyone! Its incredible! Everytime Im with you or I hear a goofy love song, my heart aches. In a good way obviously. I just... I love you", I blushed. He kissed me softly and ran his fingers through my hair. Honestly, I wish I could of stayed that way forever... Im afraid this is the end for now, but there's something I want to leave you with. If you love someone with all your heart, go after them, be with them, never let them go... Because life's too short (for you humans anyway). So if they turn you down, if you TRULY love them, dont ever give up...
