New Normal

Adora's POV:

I wake up in Catra's bed, surprised, but then the events of the night before reoccurred to me, smiling at the thought, and then the detail of our confrontation came back, and the ghost of a frown infected my lips. I look around the our room, adjusting to the light, fixating my eye's on certain objects. After fully adjusting to to the early morning light, I lye on my back staring at the ceiling, until I feel warm breath riding down my warm, I turn my head to see the brunette girl, idiotically smiling once again at the sight of her.

I stare for a little while, and a little while longer, until I realize, I turn away, a smile still plastered on my face, and Butterflies flying around in my stomach

I turn to the bedside table to check my phone and the time

I see a few notifications from various apps, clearing them out one by one, then finally checking the time

I notice we have at least an hour and a half worth of time before our first class

I groggily hop out of bed leaving Catra alone in the room

I head to the bathroom to clean my face and go through my morning routine, after that I get some breakfast ready, just a couple simple peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and a few granola bars, I was lazy so I just threw something simple together and ate my potion of the breakfast

But the entire time, while waiting for Catra to wake up, I couldn't stop thinking about last night, all the emotions going through my mind, all the things we were saying to each other, I just couldn't fathom the thought of possibly being with Catra, I mean, yeah I thought about it sometimes, but I never really thought it might have an actual chance of happening

But I snapped out of my thoughts trying to remember that there was a only a slight chance of that happening at all, I had to try not to get my hopes up

"After all, that's the exact thing that always got me hurt in the first place" I thought

Finishing my breakfast, I put my plate in the sink, leaving it there for me to wash a little bit later as I went to check if Catra had waken up yet

As I peak my head into the door frame of the bedroom my eyes land on a sleeping Catra moving around in her sleep

I grin at the sight, and proceed to walk over to help her wake up since we had lost some time until classes started already

"Catra" I said softly as I shook her slightly

"Mmm" She grunted in her sleep, which I chuckled at

"Come on we have classes soon"

"Fuck off" She said, as she nuzzled her self more into the blanket

My mood instantly changed, now being in more of a rush and short tempered

"Come lazy ass" I said as I shook her once again, but this time a little rougher, causing her to wake up, but only slightly

"Why" She held out the Y as she slowly sat herself up on the edge of the bed, than getting up and following after me once she had woken up a bit more

"I made you some breakfast" I said to Catra as she walked across the room to the bathroom to clean herself up

"Mmhm" She grunted as she closed the door to the bathroom, causing me to laugh

I sat down on the couch, in my school clothes ready to go, waiting for Catra, still not being able to fully process that this is something normal for us now, and that it isn't going back to the way it was, sure it wasn't perfect, but at least there wasn't any weird tension between us now, at least we knew what we were doing, and what we could expect, not everyday being possibly another disastrous adventure of words and feelings
