One More Weekend

"Good afternoon, everyone!"

When we went inside the plane, Blaze greeted the entire cabin crew. I followed him from behind and just smiled to everyone on board. Some of them were whispering to each other. May narinig pa nga ako.

"Girlfriend kaya yan ni Blaze?" I overheard a flight attendant whisper to her crew mate.

"Ewan. Didn't he just break up with an actress? Athena ba 'yon? Yung ex niyang rumored na buntis?" The other flight attendant replied.

"Baka hindi si Blaze yung ama ng bata kaya sila nag-break." Dugtong naman ulit nung isa pang flight attendant.

"Behati." I stopped eavesdropping when Blaze called my name. He was already sitting in the aisle seat, kanina pa pala ako nakatayo.

"Sorry. Where should I sit?" I asked and he pointed at the window seat, leaving an empty space between us. I sat down and took off my sunglasses.

I listened to the safety demo and all the announcements the pilot and the flight attendants stated before finally boarding to Siargao.

I looked at the window and stared at the aerial view of Manila City. I decided to take pictures and videos of it. I'll post it on my social media account later.

"You seem nervous. Is this your first time flying?" Blaze asked me with a hint of concern in his tone.

"Hindi 'no! Atsaka, bakit ako matatakot? I've been to a lot of countries na kaya!" I rolled my eyes and faced him. Why did I sound so defensive?!

"Oh, why are your hands shaking?"

I glanced at my hands and they were indeed shaking. To be honest, I'm still scared to ride an airplane even though I've traveled a lot of times before. It's just that what if something bad happens? Like there's gonna be a bomb threat or the plane's gonna be hijacked?

"Manahimik ka nga. I'm trying to sleep here." I crossed my arms at pinikit na ang mga mata ko. It was just an act since I didn't want to look scared in front of him, he'll probably just tease me.

Sa kaka-fake sleeping ko, I really fell asleep. Nagulat na lang ako nung bigla akong nagising and Blaze was beside me! I was resting my head on his shoulder. Kaya pala napakasarap ng tulog ko!

I slowly moved my head to see if he was also sleeping. Muntik na akong mahulog sa kinauupuan ko nung nagtama ang mga mata namin.

"Lumayo ka nga saakin!" Tinulak ko siya palayo. I pretended that I was disgusted by him. I only did that kasi baka may mag-picture saaming dalawa and post it online. He has a lot on his plate right now and I don't want to contribute to it.

"Wow. Thanks sa laway, ah." He scoffed and moved back to his original seat. I looked at his shirt and there is a stain! Nakakahiya! But it's not my fault, siya kaya yung tumabi saakin.

Inirapan ko nalang siya at tumayo na para mag CR. Natapilok ako dahil sa paa ni Blaze na nakaharang kaya napaupo ako sa kaniyang binti.

"Chancing." I stated. Blaze scoffed and held my waist for support. Dali-dali akong tumayo dahil nakatingin na yung mga crew ng airline at yung mga body guards niya.

"Keep on dreaming, woman. You're not my type." He laughed and sipped on a bottle of water. Wow, medyo na-hurt ako dun ah!

"Hindi mo pala ako type, ah? Eh, ano yung tumusok sa gitna ng binti ko?"

He suddenly choked and I walked past him. He was obviously caught off guard by what I said. May tumusok talaga! Akala ko pangatatlong paa niya!
