PART 7

"Holy shit!" Mari cursed due to shock "what the fuck man?!?! I thought you were Ally" Mari said while holding the door looking livid and was glaring at Julian.

"Sorry! I...I...ahm" Julian stuttered looking at the floor in embarrassment. He is the strongest Alpha why can’t he talk to his mate? Guilt maybe.

So this is the strongest Alpha in the land? He looks like a wussy but who am I to judge? HA! According to my research he is almost as powerful as we are but by the looks of it doesn’t seem so.

Mari just looked at him waiting for him to finish what he was supposed to say.

"I didn’t see you in the dining room earlier so I thought on checking if y'all fine"

wow! how caring! hmh!

"We weren't hungry and were a bit busy with work “It was partly true but the whole truth was that they were so stressed, food didn't cross their minds or at least her mind, she now wondered if the other girls were hungry.

As if on Que. her recreant stomach growled so loud, it actually surprised her.

"Now I am, thanks for reminding me of food" she said mockingly.

Julian can't take it anymore and laughed so hard that Mari was sure the whole mansion plus the other building next to them could hear. She doesn't know if she would be offended, embarrassed or will laugh with him. She chose the latter and laughed as well but not the same laugh as Julian's.

Julian saw Mari laughed the kind that can take all his worries away. The one that he missed so much, he wanted to touch her but was afraid of what could happen, she might refuse him and he also want to know why she can’t seem to remember him or was she just acting? He wanted to know the answer. He desperately wanted to know... this kept him tossing and turning last night. He remembered the last time he saw her, she was hopeful of their future together, she was ready to live with him.

Mari noticed that Julian was no longer laughing and was just staring at her. She suddenly became conscious and she felt her cheeks burning.

"Does that mean you’re hungry now?"

"I think so"

"Come, I'll prepare you dinner"

"Wait I'll just call the others"

This made Julian's heart sink. He was hoping for a one to one time with Mari. Mari audaciously knocked on Anna and Zoe's room but no answer. Then she knocked on Sarah and Ally's room the same thing happened, no answer, she was getting frustrated and knocked even harder. She knows what these girls are playing and she doesn't want to be a part of it. Even if she breaks the door open the people inside the room will not join her for dinner, that she is sure of, they are playing cupid, even in a mission, and they still found the time to annoy her. She bet her bottom dollar that it was her Beta that instigated this.

With no time to message the girls she turned and looked at Julian he was patiently waiting leaning on the wall. Damn he looked sexy. Then her stomach growled again, she will just have her payback tomorrow.

She approached Julian, Julian stared at her. It seems staring is his hobby. She motioned him to lead the way and then she followed.

It took less than ten minutes before a plate of salmon and carrots and beans are in front of her. It so happened to be her favourite dish, simple yet tasty, what a lucky day. She sniffs for a bit trying to smell if there is any poison or the likes on her plate, after a couple of sniffs she decided that it is safe. She dug in and was surprised at how it tasted like home.

"Compliments to the chef and thank you for heating it up"

"You’re welcome both times"

“You cooked these?"

He faked hurt. "Yes I can cook; once upon a time I used to cook a lot." I used to cook for you my love. He thought.

"Thank you again it's very delicious!" She stood up and placed the plate in the sink.

"Tell me something about you" Julian suddenly said while sitting on the chair next to the sink.

Hmh! Nosey... I hate nosey people! Mari smiled she'll just give the general information about her life. The usual things they tell everyone. Before he could ask another question she faked yawned.

"I think I better go now"

"Sorry for keeping you up" it’s just that I missed you damn so much and I want to spend all my time with you!

He stood up and lead her to the hall way.

“You don’t have to send me back I can manage” then Mari left him in the hallway. He was supposed to follow but went against it. He doesn’t want to scare her. He wanted to tell her who he is in her life. What they were before, what he really is (a werewolf) and he also wants to say sorry for leaving and not coming back. He made himself the strongest Alpha with the intention of not needing any power from a mate. He knows she’s just human and she can’t make him stronger so he trained and trained endless hours so that he can be the strongest Alpha and he can also protect his mate.And when this day comes, he will beg for her to come back but now that she is here, he is lost; he doesn’t know how to start, especially now that she can’t seem to remember him. He knows this night will be a long night again.

Ally was following Mari like a puppy. She knows her friend is angry at her for since breakfast time Mari has not talked to her or even laid eyes on her. Mari usually forgives her very fast but this thing they pulled last night was different. She pushed her friend to an Alpha a male werewolf. Last night when Mari was knocking, it seemed a funny idea to let her friend be with a man on her own but when she realized what she did, she felt guilty and knows Mari will be angry at her. Lo and behold she predicted right, ha! She can be a soothsayer! She can feel Mari’s anger towards her.  

“How could you?” Mari said while they were walking down a path getting the ingredients for the spell. “You know what I‘ve been through, you were there” Mari looked pained from last night. She has never been alone with a man before that she did not kill, except Oliver but he is a Custorian and a trust worthy friend. When she went back in her bedroom last night she felt the pain in her chest increase ten folds. Was her wolf hoping? She hoped not for hoping will just lead her to more disappointments.  

“Am really sorry, I was just joking, I will never do that ever again, I promise!” Ally was in dire need to be forgiven, Mari has never been like this with her. She kneeled and clasped her hands together. This made Mari looked at her friend. To think of it she enjoyed Julian’s cooking and company last night but still Ally not answering the door and telling the others not to do as well made her feel abandoned.

“Ok, but never again” she said flatly and turned around and continued walking into the woods.

Ally was so relieved she started to run to Mari and hug and kiss her.  “The two of us forever” she said. This made Mari hug her back. It was their promise to each other before their memories were erased.
