meeting a familiar friend

Hicca's pov
When I got to the Forge, I take off my vest and put on my apron. I had to think of a way for Toothless to fly without me on his tail and keeping it open the whole time. I was thinking for a few minutes while I was doing some work and then it hit me, like literally I hit my head when I thought of it. I started making a drawing of a saddle suitable for Toothless. Gobber wasn't going to be here today so I had the forge all to myself.

I was working on the saddle for a few hours and it was done. It was already night time and everyone was asleep, I went to the dragon ring and opened Barf and Belch's cage to get the eel out. "Sorry again for using this on you guys." I said holding the eel in my hand. "It's alright, we know you didn't mean to do it." Belch said nudging my head a bit. "But how did you know dragons are allergic to eels?" Barf asked coming closer to me.

I giggled then said. "I have my ways." I said with a smile. "Well I need to go home and sleep, I'll try to talk to you tomorrow ok." I said petting them both at the head. "Ok." They both said happily. I left the ring and went home to get some sleep, and I was excited to help Toothless fly again.

When I woke up I got ready, then went to get some fish for Toothless. Went I got to the village I saw an unfamiliar boat at the docks, Gobber was already there so I went to the docks. "Good morning Gobber." I said happily. "Morning lass." He said helping get a few things off the unfamiliar boat. "Just so you know there won't be any training for today." Gobber said putting down the crate and I couldn't help but ask. "Why not?" Then Gobber replied with a sigh.

"The ship with people came a little early and I need to help them with knowing where to help at Berk." Gobber then sat down on a crate, then said. "There is supposed to be 16 people to help, but I only count 15." I look around and ask Gobber something. "Did you already ask the people on the boat where the last one is?" I asked cause he looked exhausted and said. "Yes, they said he came here a few days ago, but I haven't seen anyone new here though."

"That's because I'm really good in hiding." I hear a familiar voice say and I turn around to see a familiar pitch black hair, pale skin, and acid-green eyes. I look closer at him and it was Toothless in his human form. "My name is Shadow nice to meet you." 'Shadow' said helping Gobber with a few crates. "Nice to meet you to lad. I'm Gobber and this lass right here is Hicca." Gobber said getting another bag filled with supplies.

"Hicca, could you help me put these crates to into the forge?" Gobber asked handing me a few small crates that was easy for me to carry. "Sure." I said going to the forge with the crates in my hands and I was little upset at 'Shadow' for not telling me he was part of the crew that would come to Berk. "Uh, here let me help you some of those." Shadow/Toothless said grabbing a few crates above the one I was holding.

We leave the docks and head to the forge, I was glad no one was still here since it was still a little early. "So when were you going to tell me that you were part of the ship of people that is going to help out in Berk?" I asked Toothless because I was still a little upset with him. "Uh...today I guess." He said a little nervous and embarrassed. "Sorry for not telling you ahead." Toothless/Shadow said looking down a bit, I look at him and sighed. "It's ok, but you have to tell me something like this a head of time, ok?" I said in a teasing tone. "Hehe...Ok." He said blushing a bit.

We got to the forge and put away the crates. "So this is where you like to work?" Toothless said to me looking around the forge. "Yeah I help out a lot here." I said putting the last crate at the ground. "Now did you eat? We can head to the great hall if you'd like?" I asked facing him with a smile. "Yeah, I could eat." Toothless said then we went to the great hall to eat.

"Oi lass where you heading?" Gobber asked who just got back from the docks. "I was about to take Shadow to the great hall to eat." I replied with smile on my face. "Ah I see, well then come by to the forge later, alright." He said, I nod then me and Shadow head to the great hall.

"Wow this place is bigger than I thought." Toothless/Shadow said looking turning his head around left and right. No one was here yet so me and Toothless got some food and sat by the big fire then we started talking about each other for a while.

"So you like to travel and meet different people?" I asked grabbing a bite out of my meal. "Just until I can find a place to fully settle down in, the places I've been to were...rough and I have a hard time looking for a mate that won't try to kill me as a dragon." He said with a little sadness and disappointment in his voice.

"Well maybe you'll find one eventually." I said trying to cheer him up a bit, he looked at me and smiled. "Thanks." He said with happiness in his voice and a smile. "I know this might be too personal but could you tell me who gave you that scar on your arm?" He asked looking at my arm which still had bandages on it. I was quiet for a moment then spoke.

"The person that gave me the scar was a boy named Austin. I used to like him but since he is a jerk to me, I stopped liking him. When we were done with one of dragon training, he dropped his axe and I thought it would be nice to give it back to him. But instead of thanking me he hit me at the arm with his axe." I said feeling a tear fall down on my face, I could feel Toothless's hand wiping away the tear on my face. I was about to say something when. "Hey Hicca." Speak of the devil it was Austin in front of me and Toothless.

"What do you want Austin?" I said in a really cold voice, because I hated him more than anyone else, before he could even reply Toothless/Shadow spoke. "So this is the guy who gave you the scar on your arm?" Toothless/Shadow asked giving Austin a cold look. "Yeah." I said making sure I didn't make eye contact with Austin. "We should leave now, I need to get to the forge and you still need to help out with the village." I said cause we were already finish with our food, Toothless/Shadow nodded and we left the great hall.

"Sorry about that I just didn't want to be around him." I said as I walked to the forge with Toothless beside me. "It's ok I get it." He said putting a hand over my shoulder, I hug him and said. "Thanks. Let's meet at the cove later, I have surprise that might help you fly again." I said with a smile on my face, he nod and said. "Sure see you later Hicca." Toothless said heading back to the docks and waving good bye to me, I wave back then head to the forge excited for later.
