I used to know what I loved. I used to remember the desolate halls that echoed in a hollow sort of way. I used to think about the meaningless parties that ruined my hair and makeup. I used to know me. But now I'm here. And it's cold and it's dark and the grass doesn't seem greener on the other side. It's empty. I'm empty.

We've been here for little over a week now. I'm still not used to the rickety bed that Lulls me to sleep, or the same blank wall staring black at me. Or the fact I wake up asleep in the same room as David. It's so surreal. I just want to go home.

Thanks to our 'predicament' as mom calls it, we can't even buy our own groceries at this point. We eat at a shitty cafe in the quaint town square. 'Café Terrible' or something like that. Anyway, the food isn't actually as terrible as one might assume. I mean it's not eggs in the Maldives but it's something at least. There's one waitress; Tilly, I think her name is. This bashful brunette with sun-kissed skin and big bright eyes that always seem to be smiling. How she keeps that much optimism in a place like this does unnerve me during every conversation I've ever had with her. But to be honest, it's like a little slice of heaven in a cake drenched in shit.

"Morning, Ms Rose." Talulah's chirpy voice appeared beside me.
"Hi....Tally..." my eyes narrowed slightly. I couldn't read from her facial expressions whether I was on the right track with her name.
"Twyla-"
"I said that. Anyway. Can I have one of those fruit Smoothie things? Thanks Tina." I smiled, hopefully not appearing too dismissive.
"Yep! One Fruit smoothie. I'll have that out in a few minutes." And with that, she'd been whisked away to another costumer
