"Hello, my name is Taori Tamako, since we're classmates, you can call me Tamako. I'm looking forward to being good friends with all of you," she smiled at the front of the class. I couldn't help but roll my eyes and sigh. Another transfer student joining our class, and what's worse, she seems like the popular, get-along-with-everyone type. Just what I need.
Oh, right. I'm Mikari, but you can call me Miss Nobody, that's what everyone else does. I'm an almost-loner. It means I have 1 friend, although she's one of the popular ones so I don't get free time with her that often. I sit at the back of the class and find the words 'GEEK' and 'NERD' graphitied on my bag, desk and other belongings. It's just normal now. Honestly, if there was a day that those words weren't there, I'd be astounded, but that's besides the point.
My life is typical, tiring and basic. +10 points for alliteration. It's the same every day.
Although, Miya (my friend I spoke about earlier) is different. Her golden waves drop down to below her waist. Her hazel eyes gleam in the light and her curved, friendly eyebrows give her a welcoming look. She has long, slender legs and a thin waist. She's always helping out, signing up for extra curricular activities and what not. To say the least, I'm much different. My black shoulder-length hair doesn't sway in the breeze like hers. My legs are short and stubby and although I'm not fat, I'm not slim either. My eyes are plain dark brown, so brown that sometimes it looks like I have no iris. My eyebrows have a mind of their own and are unruly and wild. Basically, her and I are exact opposites. But this new girl. She could give Miya a run for her money for sure. Her straight hair is blood red and every strand flutters and shines as she walks. Her eyes are like the turquoise sea and her eyebrows are arched as they lay on top. She is slim and tall and looks like she could be a model. Why was I the only one born into natural ugliness? Curse you, mother.... or father I guess. But that's not the issue here. This new girl, there's something about her. A sinister feeling. Like my mind is telling me to run? And something tells me Miya feels the same. I wonder what it is....
