Seven

I was sitting on the chair, waiting for Mom to come out from the doctor's room.

She had fever for 3 days. And I came to the hospital with her.

The lobby was almost empty.

I was listening to music with my earphones on.

But it wasn't appealing anymore.

Nothing feels good when you're mind is dead.

She came out and I stood up. "Let's go. I've to get some medicines." She said.

"Is this something serious?" I asked with concern.

"No, just a viral fever." She said smilingly. And I felt a relief.

I was standing in a corner leaning back against the wall. I never liked crowd.

I noticed someome standing few metres away from me.

It was him.

I kept staring at him, like he was something new I had never seen. He was wearing a black hoodie, face covered with a black mask accompanying with a black cap. But it wasn't hard for me to recognize him.

I just know him so well.

My head was bombarded with questions.

What was he doing there?

Was he sick?

Did he come alone?

Where was he for all these days?

Did he miss me?

He suddenly noticed me when our eyes had met together. I was looking at him, he was looking at me. His eyes looked surprised.

I wanted to know how did he feel seeing me there. Sad? Happy? Or maybe angry? Disgusting?

I sighed when I realized there was no point of watching someone who doesn't want you to look at him. Who doesn't want you to hang out with you. Who thinks you're ugly, and the other girls are million times prettier than you.

I moved my eyes from him. But I felt his eyes were still following me.

Mom bought the medicines and came to me. "Hey, let's go home now." She said.

I held her hand like a kid and was leaving the place.

"Mom, can I have a banana milk while going home?" I asked.

She looked at me being surprised. "You never liked that, did you?" She said.

"But I like it now." I replied.

It brings back old memories.

"Okay, I'll get you one."

I looked behind one last time.

A pair of eyes were still watching me.

Why now?
