Everyday I hangout with Wendy before I would go play baseball with Rodriguez I didn't really know his first name so I just called him what my brother called him Rodriguez.We were playing then I said
"Hey Rodriguez wanna go get some water"
He then said"Yeah sure and you can call me Benny you know"
I smiled and said"Yeah ok and you can call me Steph"
We started walking to the drug store and we talked about a lot of things it was really nice on the way there we saw Wendy so I said
"Hey Wendy what's up"she looked at me then smiled and said
"Hey Steph"
As she walked away Benny looked at me in surprise and said
"you know her?!?"I was confused but I said
"yeah she's literally my best friend"he then said still shocked
"My friend Squints has a HUGE crush on her"
I giggled and said"Yeah everyone does"
he smiled and said "yeah I guess"
We got to the drug store and went inside and grabbed some pop instead of water.He walked me home after that so I went and made myself a snack then I heard a knock at the door,I went to open it and it was Wendy she busted right through me and then said
"so Benny huh"I rolled my eyes and said
"stop he's just a friend"she smiled and said
"Alright alright but what's he walking you home for?"
I then said"oh we play baseball after his friends go home"
She then looked at we with a confused face and said
"Why after his friends leave?"I then said
"oh because his friends wouldn't want me to play with them so he plays with me,I do wish I could play for a real team but it's fine"
she smiled and said"oh I know his friends one of them likes me"I smiled and said
"I know Benny told me about that"Wendy then said
"anyway I gotta get home I just came to ask about Benny"I then said
"Ok bye Wendy"she smiled and said
"Byeee"she walked out the door then I waited for Phillips and my parents to get home.
The next morning Wendy's POV:
(Wendy)I had to find a way to get them to let Steph play with them)I went to the sandlot where I knew the group of boys played.
I walked into the sandlot and all the boys were staring at me,they all got in a group and started walking towards me then Squints said
"Wendy what are you doing here"I smiled and said
"Well I'm here to ask you guys to let Steph playin your team"
The boys laughed and then Bertram said
"Wendy we can't let her play first of all she's Phillips sister and second of all she's a girl"I raised an eyebrow and said
"Well if you let her play on this team then I'll go on a date with Squints"
I finished my sentence then I looked at Squints he had a huge smile on his face and then they huddled up and then Squints said
"Alright Deal Next Friday"I smiled and nodded then walked away.
Steph's POV:
I woke up pretty early and got ready for the day,I sat on the couch and watched baseball Phillips had already gone with his friends and my parents were at work so No one was home.
After a while I heard a knock on the door I went to open it and it was the group of boys I was confused so I asked
"What are you guys doing here?"Ham answered and said
"Well we wanted to play baseball with you"I was still confused then I said
"Really?!?"
Then a small boy with glasses smiled and said
"Yeah when we were playing Phillips team we saw you play you were really good"I smiled and said
"Thank you guys"They looked at each other and then Ham said
"Cmon guys let's go to the Sandlot,Steph just follow us"
I nodded and started walking behind them.When we got to the sandlot Benny looked at me and said
"Why dont I introduce you to the team"I smiled and said
"Yeah ok"Benny then said
"That's Timmy and Tommy Timmons,Bertram,Kenny DeNunez,Alan McLennan But we call yeah-yeah,Squints,and that's Ham"
They didn't really look like they wanted my there but I shrugged if of and said
"Nice to meet you guys I'm Stephanie but you can call me Steph"
They nodded but still didn't really seem happy I was there but I just stood there.
