Background Music
The best medicine for you,
When you are blue,
Is to listen to the music that is just, you.
Whether it be happy or sad,
Good or bad,
Innocent or dirty,
Casual or flirty.
Whatever you think,
Feels most like home,
Is what you should hear,
When you’re on your own.
The things you hear,
Are more than just words,
They’re emotions you feel,
And a cure for the deal.
The deal that life has dealt you,
The deal you have to have.
The deal you cannot change,
No matter how good or bad.
But if you play the cards just right,
And if the background music fits it tight,
Your so called “bad hand,”
Could be the win in disguise.
So no matter how you feel,
No matter what front you’ve put up,
If the background music doesn’t go with it,
Then I guess your jig is up.
