JoshAs we entered Wonkey Monkey I glanced around looking for a place to sit. It was pleasantly quiet today, only a few other toddlers running around. I noticed in the corner they had one table left with a nice big sofa.
"Let's sit over there. Its pretty comfy"
We head on over and Ethan flings himself on a chair and takes his shoes off..... Before I can say a word he runs over and slides straight into the ballpit. I just look at Sarah-Lynn and shrug my shoulders "I guess we aren't that interesting anymore".
She laughs and agrees "well we are no competition to a ballpit and trampoline".
Just then a young teenager comes over and asks us what our order is. I take a latte and she takes a cappuccino, I order a juice pack and some fruit for when Ethan needs a break. As we listen to the sound of kids laughing and smell coffee brewing I can't help but think how much nicer it is to come with someone. I look around and see Ethan throw himself from a small ledge onto the trampoline. It's amazing how fear free he is.
"So Sarah-Lynn tell me a bit about yourself."
She looks at me and just shrugs and says "not much to say I guess, I'm 27 and a kindergarten teacher. I love helping to make them into little people. I just love their free spirits and can do attitudes"
As she is speaking her whole face lights up. You can see the love shining through and she is getting more animated as she loosens up. I guess I was too busy looking I didn't realise she had asked me something... Oh crap, what had she said?
"Sorry could you ask me again"
She smiles patiently at me and asks,
"I asked you to tell me a bit about yourself too"."Oh I'm 30 and I have my own business, I own 4 hotels and luckily I have a great team behind me so I can be at home with Ethan more. I'm single and I really like you".
I throw that last bit in hoping to catch her off guard and it works. She blushes and drops her eyes. When she looks back up she looks happy and I feel relieved. She isn't going to knock me back straight off!Just then Ethan runs up and grabs our hands, "come play"!

We both take a hand and follow little Ethan to the ballpit, he's such a happy kid you can see he has an amazing bond with his dad. I can't help but glance at Josh and hope I hear more of his story but in the meantime I drop down to Ethan and say "race you to the slide" Ethan glows and takes off as fast as his little legs can go and I pretend I can't catch up. Just as he is about to reach the slide I scoop him up and we slide down together straight into the ballpit. The balls fly everywhere and he screams out in joy. Josh wades into the pool and comes to us.
"Why don't you do that again"?
Ethan grabs my hand "again, again" so we climb back up to the top of the slide. Ethan shouts down to his dad at the bottom. "Here we come daddy"
I put him on my knee and push us off. Just as we get to the bottom Josh grabs us both and we are enveloped in his embrace. I can't help but notice his strong arms around both of us and smell his aftershave. Something musky but oh so good. Ethan giggles and wraps his arms around his dad
"I love you daddy" and before Josh can reply Ethan wiggles loose and runs off to play. Josh and I just look at each other when I realise he hasn't let go of me. His arm is still wrapped around me and his hand is resting on the small of my back. It feels so right and I don't want to move. I look up feeling the heat rush to my cheeks and look in his eyes. They are smouldering and I feel like I'm about to burst into flames. I nervously bite my lip and he notices. Before I can do anything he leans in and I feel his soft warm lips touch mine.
I instantly melt, now I know what all those romance books meant when they described falling for someone. My heart is pounding and I want more...
