Poet's Note: One of the most common and probably most recognizable patterns in these poems, is my rather constant references to nature and the things that make up it. I just can't get it out of my head when I write. The perfect balance of beauty and power, order and chaos, peace and unrest, it's inspiring, and a perfect representation of how this world ought to be. "Dear Peaceful" shows two sides of nature, but pulls them together into the harmony of unity, while tying it back into the overwhelming tendencies of our chaotic lives and the curveballs they love to throw us. It spreads a message of how confusion and chaos cannot control us, only if we let them. We can choose to be stronger, stand taller, fight harder, to rise above the rest of this world, owning our own lives and never backing down in fear. Falling for the illusions of society will only knock us down, again and again, but when we spread our dove wings and leave our brokenness behind, we find a restful peace... even through the longest of wars.

Dear Peaceful,
Light at dawn brings no calm,
Morning songs seem a threat;
Tomorrows merged with yesterday's scars,
Rushing river sweeping across the land-Rapids rising, smelling the fear of their prey.
Like an arrow through the dove's wing,
Broken love left in shards;
Remedy long term awaiting,
Drowned through the cracks of your heart-No hope to cling to, as if at gunpoint you are held.
In a smoke plume, swirling fog,
No opposing force can rival;
Till chaos suffocates where you're caught,
And slim chances no longer seem trivial-When the world around you in explosion ripped apart.
Fragments cannot re-piece together,
Anger, frustration, by failed attempt;
Feel so helpless, not like ever,
The weight sinking deeper into your head-Burned and melted in blazes untamable.
Thought process ran wild,
Runaway train off the tracks;
Abstract theories till your mind feels senile,
In a cipher no helpline seems to crack-Fluttering remnants drifting onto the floor.
So as you crouch there, a spectator,
Seizure inducing flashes in eyes;
Surroundings ceased as computable,
And the longer staring, more you hide-Nightfall anticipation, appearing relief in restless sleep.
Letting black darkness consume you,
Wipe the horror from your sight;
Erase your mind of troubles you can't move,
Surrender's more peaceful than a fight-Cause when storms brew your shining stars disappear.
Enter a universe non-existent,
As if death's equivalent to a rescue;
Falsity of doves in hell's endless prison,
Spontaneous color replaced in the darkest truth-
