Yoongi begins to prepare for the fair. He sets up his paintings, sheets still covering them, and makes sure his spot looks nice and tidy. He needed everything to be perfect to have successful sells.
On the other hand, you walk around the fair with your family. The theatre company was performing later that night and you planned on slipping away and suddenly appearing on stage. That was going to be your big reveal.
Yoongi finishes uncovering a few of his basic art pieces when he sees you and your family walking past the other attractions, enjoying what others have to offer. He starts to feel a little unsettled and stressed until you finally look over at him.
The two of you make eye-contact and you give him a reassuring smile, relaxing him. Yoongi takes a deep breath and goes back to setting up.
You continue walking hand in hand with your husband, thinking everything was all right. What you didn't know was that Richard had caught you and Yoongi looking at each other in more than just a friendly way.
Nonetheless, he acts like he saw nothing and leads you and your parents over to Yoongi's stand as if it was natural. When Yoongi sees all of you approaching, he smiles kindly and Richard returns one as well. A fake one, of course.
"Oh, what's this?" He turns to you. "Isn't this an acquaintance of yours, Y/N?"
You know something's off, but nod anyway.
"An artist?" Richard chuckles mockingly. "Not a lot of cash in the arts. Oughta think of something with money in it, sport." He looks around at the lack of people at his stand.
"People are attracted to talent, not money," You stick up for Yoongi. "I'm sure this isn't all Mr. Min has to offer. I'm quite certain he has more that are rather... fetching."
"Indeed I do, ma'am," Yoongi smiles and takes the sheets off of his main set to reveal a series of three paintings, each completely enthralling and unique. "I call this series... 'Her'."
Yoongi glances at you, anticipating your reaction since you've never seen these paintings before. All you can do is smile proudly.
So this is what you've been hiding from me, Min Yoongi.
The first painting is called 'Singularity'. There's a boy standing on a frozen lake, looking down into the ice to see himself and a girl playing happily in the spring on the other side.
Painting Symbolism Yoongi sees himself and you on the other side, underneath the ice. He's contrasting his bleak, icy world to the one he wants to go to but can't since you're married and refuse to acknowledge him. This represents the past.
