"Ah," Yoongi hisses sharply. "Careful. It hurts."

"Then maybe you shouldn't have gotten into a fight with my husband."

Yoongi chuckles and rolls his eyes. He settles down and lets out a stress-filled sigh.

"So what do we do now?" He asks.

It goes quiet for a moment until–

"Let's leave." You declare abruptly.

"Huh?"

"Let's leave this place," You tell him. "Leave this city. This life."

"Y/N, what are you talking about? Where would we go?"

"Anywhere. Anywhere at all. I just... I don't want to be here anymore."

Yoongi's silent, but he's thinking it over. That's when he starts to overthink and gets insecure.

"We can't."

"What? Why?"

"I can't give you a good life, Y/N. I'm poor. I barely have money for myself. How will I take care of you? How will I keep you happy?"

"I love you, Yoongi," You tell him, cupping his chubby cheeks. "All I need to feel rich is you. All I need to be happy is you. You, Min Yoongi, are my everything."

"But your whole life is here. What about your parents? And your marriage? What'll happen with that?"

"We can start a new life. You'll have more opportunities elsewhere, so much more than what this town gives you," You smile encouragingly. "And Yoongi... there's nothing left for me here. My parents don't care about what I want. You said it yourself, I can choose to be happy. So I'm saying fuck it. I'm not some prize to be won. I'll decide who I want to be with because from now on, I get to decide for myself what I want. My marriage... well, I'll file a divorce. I just want my happiness, Yoongi. I just want to be with you."

A smile finally appears on Yoongi's lips and you know you've gotten to him. He leans in and places a kiss on your forehead.

"Let's get out of this miserable town."

The next morning you arrive at your house to get your things. You knock on the door and you're taken aback when your mother opens it. She's surprised to see you and doesn't know what to say, but you hold your neutral expression and push past her to go upstairs. Your father watches you walk in.

"Y/N." He calls.

You ignore him and keep walking. Your father gestures to Richard and your mom for one of them to say something.

Upstairs, you grab the suitcase from the closet and open it, setting it on the bed before beginning to dump your clothes in it.

There's a light knock on the open door.

"Y/N, dear–"

You stop and turn to her.

"Mother, please. For the first time in my life, I know what I'm doing. Nothing you say is going to change my mind, if that's what you're trying to do. And if you're here to kick me out of the family, well," You shrug. "I beat you to it."

She doesn't say anything, so you return to packing. Seconds later, you feel a hand rest on your shoulder. You turn around.

"I... Y/N, I wanted to say that I'm sorry," You hear your mother's strained voice. "I'm so sorry for not listening to you or asking you what you're feeling. You're my daughter. You deserve better. So much better," She whispers, referring to how your husband has physically hurt you. "I only hope that you'll be a better mother to your kids than I was. So I'm here to wish you luck. I truly hope you and that young man live happily together."

Your mom grins and you do too, causing your flooding tears to fall.

"Now come on. Let's finish packing."

You and your mother walk downstairs, the suitcase in your hand. Richard is standing solemnly and doesn't say a thing. He's humiliated. And your dad... well, he looks pissed.

As you're about to walk out without looking or saying anything to your dad and Richard, your father finally speaks.

"I hope you've thought long and hard before making this decision, Y/N."

You say nothing then slightly turn to look at your mother. You both smile and nod at each other before you're walking out of that dreary house and your old life, never to look back again.
