It was the vaisakha ekadashi(11th of vaisakha).
The supreme godhead, Lord Vishnu who exists simultaneously in the paramapada Nithya vibhuti vaikuntha, the supreme realm where one feels the need to satisfy other's desire rather than one's own, and ksheer sagar along with Devi Lakshmi was looking down to prithvikoka lying on Anant sesha. Devi Lakshmi who is seated by the Lord's Lotus feet said "My Lord, it is time for me to yet again take birth in mrityuloka. Like how I, Lakshmi is the shakti of Narayana, the daughter of Bhishmaka, who is me incarnated will be the shakti of Narayana's Krishnavatar, the essential potency of Krishna." They both smiled at each other.
Maharaja Bhishmaka of the prosperous and flourishing kingdom of Vidarbha, which lies in the south of the vindhyas, having the river payoshni lying in the northern entrance of dandaka forest nourishing it's land, is anxiously waiting for the news of the birth of his sixth child. Maharaja Bhishmaka has already fathered five sons namely Rukmi, Rukmaratha, Rukmakethu, Rukmabahu and Rukmanetra with Rukmi being the eldest and hence the next king.
A dasi comes and informs "Maharaja ki jay. Maharani has given birth to a princess".
Maharaja Bhishmaka became ecstatic after hearing those words. After five sons, he finally has a daughter whom he could pamper and spoil with all the love in the world. There is no doubt that she is going to be the darling of everyone. He rushed to the courtyard of his wife. As he approached, he could hear the loud cry of his newborn baby. He reached there and saw his wife, exhausted by the process, had closed her eyes and decided to rest for a while, but had a tingling smile on her lips. Beside the bed was standing the midwife with his daughter who was still crying uncontrollably. The midwife was trying so hard to pacify the child.
Maharaja Bhishmaka with a small smile on his face gladly took the baby into his arms. The child suddenly stopped crying and became calm like how the nature becomes peaceful after a huge storm. One would not believe that this was the same child who was screaming seconds ago.
Bhismaka looked at his daughter who shined with the glow of hundred full moons, having a baby smile on her face that could make anyone melt with pure affection.
Her innocent eyes looked joyously at her father. A wide smile spread on Maharaja Bhishmaka's lips. He leaned in to kiss his daughter's forehead. His long beard tickled the child making it gurgle with happiness.
Bhishmaka saw his wife has woken up and is sitting on the bed with a satisfactory smile plastered on her beautiful angel like face. He walked up to her and gave the child.
Even though she have felt this motherly feeling and the bliss of holding a newborn in her arms before, each time she finds it more pleasing, to be able to provide her warmth to her child. The sense of protection she feels towards this little bundle of joy is an ineffable feeling.
The door burst opened and in came their five sons who are so beyond excited to meet their baby sister. All of the five gathered around their parents and gazed at the baby with glistening eyes. The youngest one, Rajkumar Rukmanetra took hold of the baby's tiny hands in his small ones. "She is so soft!!" He exclaimed with wonder filled in his eyes. Maharani smiled at her son's remark.
Maharaja Bhishmaka with a smile, said"putron, this is your baby sister and from now on it is your duty to protect her from any evil that comes to her. She should not feel the lack of anything in her life."
Rajkumar Rukmi, being the eldest and matured of all, with utter respect, replied"yes pitashree, I being the eldest, vow to protect all my siblings from any type of danger and make sure their needs and wishes are all fulfilled." The protective vibe surrounding the newborn princess was overwhelming.
Rajkumar Rukmabahu enthusiastically asked"what are we going to call her matashree?"
Maharani turned her face towards her husband. He with a bright smile replied to his sons and wife who were eagerly waiting"we will call her Rukmini" her name echoed throughout the large room "meaning the one adorned with the gold."
Maharani agreed"it indeed is the perfect name for our daughter who outshines even gold with her bright complexion." Rukmini in her mother's arm made happy sounds as if she understood everything that just happened there.
Soon, very soon she would be beside her beloved for whom she is destined to. Like vaidehi is for Dasharathanandan, vaidarbhi is for Nandanandan..❤️
The midwife being witness to all these family bonding quietly went outside and gently wiped the tears of happiness that formed in her eyes. She thought of her late husband and her orphaned children. She pulled herself up again and started walking away. Being weak and emotional is not an option for people who struggles to meet both ends. Ultimately, not everyone has the fortune of being blessed with a happy and complete family...

That's it...I want to say that there is no elaborate mention of Rukmini's birth and her childhood in any of the scriptures and texts except for the fact that she was born to Bhismaka of Vidarbha.
And I am sorry if there is too much explanation and description for every single simple thing. Suggestions are well appreciated and welcomed..😌😌
Don't forget to vote. Atleast for my sake, It just takes one tap..🙏🙏...❤️💜💙
