A strong family we was indeed. We moved through the pain. I later found out that the only reason I was found in the piles of the tower was because of that dog. Dogs have chips in them, just in case they ever get lost. And I was just lucky to be next to one.
I also found out the dogs name was lucky. Ironic. And the dog belonged to the firefighter that rescued me and guided us through the tower, Jake. After getting over my husbands death, I was able to move on. Jake became a great friend of mine through this time period. And later we married. My kids love him, and as do I. But I will never forget that day.
I still have nightmares and I wake up screaming. But jake is always there to comfort me. The girl and boy that was with me from my floor, Amy and Mike both survived. And they turned out to become great friends as well. Nine eleven must never be forgotten. Not those who died like Ryan, Amy and even Lucky. Or those who survived even. We must remember it forever. We must learn.
But most importantly we have to learn that hope is a special thing when it's the only thing you have left. You must never lose it. Because hope is the only reason I made it out of that tower alive.
THE END.
