Drabble One 》 Ocean / Omna
It was a beautiful day. The breeze that ran throughout the park was cool and steady, brushing the trees and ruffling their leaves. It herded some sheepy silver clouds in the deep azure sky to and fro, seeming to enjoy the play.
"Ocean." The man looked down to where her voice was, her head comfortably situated in his lap. "What are you looking at?"
The skies mirrored in his crystal eyes answered before he did. Omna smiled, blinking slowly, slipping free of the embrace of the sweet doze she had woken from and holding on to his voice as her anchor.
Gosh, his lap was so comfortable.
"The clouds are so magnificent today, Omna." Ocean murmured, gaze lost amid the blue sky forest above again.
"Hmm.." Omna hummed in agreement.
This date picnic had been Ocean's idea and she didn't really mind. The man needed a reprieve greatly from wrecking his beautiful mind with gruesome medical studying books; the images in those things were shudder worthy. And tho Omna would have wanted a quiet stay-in watching cartoons or the like as the home buddy she was, she understood her boyfriend's need for fresh air. In fact she didnt mind at all especially when it was just the two of them and she could show him off to the world by keeping him to herself.
Her tummy broke the silence by growling fiercely. Omna's eye twitched and Ocean's eyes drifted down to hers again. He smiled.
"Should I get out the food? You sound like you need it right about now." He half teased.
"Do I?" Omna refused to budge from her comfortable situation on his lap. "Well, actually I might, but just five more minutes."
"Oh, Ocean!"
"Oh my God, it really is him!!! SQUEAA!!!"
"THE OCEAN DAKOTA ALISTAIR CREED?!"
"Oh, damn."
Not. Again.
Ocean looked up like a deer caught in headlights and Omna just sighed bitterly with a facepalm, sitting up.
It was a good thing they hadn't unpacked the food and had just been lovey-doveying about if Omna dozing and Ocean sky watching could be called that.
"They're your fans so its your call. This was supposed to be a day for just the two of us so I say we run like heck. But its your call, Ocean." Omna said, watching his frozen reaction to the incoming storm.
The screams and squealing were getting louder.
Maybe he had had a rough week too at college, or maybe he had been listening to the last sentence Omna had spoken. Whichever it was, Ocean got up and snatched the basket filled with food and nodded determinedly at Omna. She rolled up the mat on cue. They linked hands.
And skeddadled away.
Minutes later, in truth, fourty five minutes later, the two found themselves in the far off old abandoned playground area hiding in the more ancient part of the gigantic park. They were hiding out in the closed dome of the old Lion slide.
Theg both panted and gasped, testing fate to betray them after all this struggle and chase. Ocean hunched over hands on knees, trying to regain his breath; Omna standing back to the dome's wall was still hyper alert and on the lookout, breathing sharp and quick as well. She looked over at the big little kitten she was protecting aka Ocean.
Those crystal seas for eyes lighted up in amusement, catching Omna's own, finding the circumstances rather fun, enjoyable even. His deathly pale australian skin was so bright in the afternoon light. His ultra black crop style shave contrasted amazingly with his skin and here was an ethereal ghost in the making. Sweat running down his face and raining down his back didn't do anything to diminish from his great looks either. And Omna found herself hard pressed to not just go out and roar at those fangirls of his that they were much too late, Ocean is Hers and Hers alone!
