CHRISTMAS EVE
"Seriously, Tiff, I can't believe I let you convince me to go shopping on Christmas Eve with you." Jimmy was in a grumpy mood as we headed to the city to get one final gift. He had been giving me a hard time all morning, but also refused to let me go alone.
"I wasn't planning on it, but then Candy told me about this new mixer that she wishes she could get and she just did so much for me this year, I feel like this is the least I could do." I reach over and set my hand on his arm. "I really appreciate you coming along."
"You're a good friend, Sweetheart."
"Well it isn't hard to be a good friend when I have the best friends and family here." Jimmy glances over and gives me a smile. His grumpiness is a wall he puts up, but I know what he's really like deep down inside.
I had almost finished all my Christmas shopping and wrapping right after Jimmy and I moved in together. I didn't have a lot of people to shop for, but it was more than I had on my list any other year. Jimmy swore that everybody would be just fine with gift cards, but I loved buying gifts and the entire process that went into it. There was no way I could just sign our names on some gift cards and call it good.
I thought I was all ready to go, but then as Candy and I were together and making Christmas desserts, she was telling me about this new mixer they had at the diner and how she wished that she had one of her own. I was able to find it online to purchase and after a little bit of naked tango this morning, Jimmy agreed that coming with me was the best idea. I may has used his state or orgasmic bliss to get my way, but I'll never apologize for it.
"I see a spot!" We pull into the packed parking lot and I point to a spot that is just in front of us that just opened up.
"Jesus there are so many fucking people here."
"It'll be quick, I promise."
"You're made that promise to me before." He pulls into the parking spot and then gives me a smirk.
"Jameson!" I give him a quick swat to the arm, "You never like it quick anyway."
"That's true." He leans over and drags his knuckles across my jawline. "I like it nice and slow and to make it last all night long."
I start to fan myself as the temperature in the truck seems to go up a few degrees. "Okay, we need to get out of the truck now."
"What's wrong, city girl?"
"Nope, nuh-uh, I'm not sitting in this truck with you while you do that smoldering sexy look my way."
I hear him laughing at me as I climb out of the truck and meet him on the other side. He puts his arm out for me and I loop my arm in his as we walk into the store. As expected, the store is packed and Jimmy tightens his hold on me as people inadvertently bump into us.
"So where are we going?"
"Just over to customer service, they're holding one for me."
"Oh, so we aren't actually fighting the crowds today?"
"No way. I called and asked if they had one and then paid for it over the phone. Most stores will take phone payments if you just ask."
"That's pretty smart."
The mixer is waiting for us at customer service and in less than fifteen minutes we are back in our truck and pulling out of the parking lot, but narrowly avoiding a parking lot road rage incident that happens.
