WEDDING DAY
Jimmy: Good morning, my bride.
Me: Good morning, my groom.
Jimmy: Big day today, get dressed and see Candy, she’s got something from me.
Me: What did you do cowboy?
Jimmy: You’ll see. Love you
Me: See you at the altar!
Jimmy: I can’t wait.
Right after my alarm went off I received a text message from Jimmy, he must have been up waiting for what time I told him I was getting up. I cannot believe today is the day that I say, “I do,” to the man of my dreams. I had a hard time getting sleep last night, but when I was finally able to calm my brain to get some rest, I fell asleep smiling, thinking about Jimmy. There is a knock at the door and my mom opens the door slowly.
“Rise and shine, Tiff!” My parents stayed at our apartment last night, letting some of their guests have their RV.
I yawn and sit up in bed, “Good morning, mom! How did you sleep last night? I know the guest bed isn’t that comfortable.”
She waves me off with a smile, “Oh don’t you worry about me, it was just right. I made some French toast for you. I didn’t do eggs because I know sometimes eggs can give me...well…” She pinches her nose shit and waves her other hand in front of her face.
I laugh at her antics, “Thanks for thinking of me, Mom.”
“It isn’t everyday that my only child gets married, you know?”
“The one and only time!” I say persistently.
“Exactly. Eat up. I’m sure Candy will be here soon.”
By the time I finished breakfast and took a quick shower, changing into some casual clothing for the first part of the day, Candy welcomes herself into my house with an entrance only she could pull off.
“Look who I found?” She makes a drumroll sound on the wall and then pulls her girlfriend into my place.
“Sheila!” I am legitimately surprised, she wasn’t sure if she could get the whole day off work today.
“Hey, girl! Happy wedding day.” Sheila gives me a big hug and kiss on the cheek.
Candy joins us to make a three-way hug.” What time does your hairstylist get here?
I glance at the clock on the stove, “In an hour. That’s enough time, right?”
Candy nods, “It should be. Are you still just doing soft curls?”
“Yeah. I know I could probably do it myself, but I just want to be pampered today. She’s going to do my makeup too.”
“You’re going to make the most beautiful bride.”
“Thank you, Candy! I heard my maid of honor is going to be smoking hot too!”
“It’s true,” she winks at me and we both start laughing.
Jimmy stayed the night at the ranch last night. I wanted to do a few things traditional. Plus I knew his brothers were going to want to throw him a bit of a bachelor party so I’d rather him end up there after a night of drinking. At noon, the limo is going to come get us and drive us ladies to the ranch as well. Raymond has cleared out one of the ranch houses for us to get ready in. Then we will ride up to the spot where the wedding is being held.
