It was a regular day for any other monster in the village, but not for Caroline.

She had been impatiently waiting for this day to arrive for weeks now, it had taken longer than expected due to unexpected amount of people who wanted the same thing as the vampire girl.

"Caroline dear, don't you think you should eat first? You've been sitting out there since sunrise" she looks back at her worried mother who was standing on the door step.

"No mother, I'm fine I just need to wait a little longer, I'm sure it's coming any minute now" oh how wrong she was.

She stayed outside for hours, she lost count at the 6th hour. Her mind started spiraling into thoughts she usually didn't even consider thinking about.

At one point she even thought that she hadn't been accepted which is why the letter didn't arrive the day it was supposed to, this thought was impossible since she dedicated almost all her life into going into that prestigious school where people could just dream of going to.

She knows that she might be a little boastful of her intelligence but it was nothing but true, she and everyone else knew of this fact.

She decided to just go inside as all her hope had escaped her body for being outside from sunrise to sunset, waiting for something she wasn't even sure was coming.

As she was about to step into her warm home which compared to the cold and breezy night was much more comforting in her times of need.

"Excuse me? Is this the house of Caroline Vlad?" A voice from behind her spoke, making bone breaking turns just to check who it was.

To her surprise there was nothing but an owl with a bag full of papers hovering over their gravel pathway where she once sat for hours on end.

"Yes..?" She probably looked ridiculous talking to an owl but if she were to be called crazy she would take it just to be accepted in that university.

"I'm sorry for the inconvenience, we had a few complications as it was a challenge to locate your village along with a few other people. Anyways here is a letter sent directly from EMU"

She picked up the letter that was left on her doorstep by the mysterious owl who had now flew off into the distance.

It came to her conclusion that the owl had some kind of spell casted on to it as she had not seen anything like it.

After picking up the valuable piece of paper and carefully taking it to her bedroom she finally got hit by the realization that this could mean she was accepted into the University.

Deciding to open it when her parents get home she quickly grabbed her coat from the coat rack and a pair of boots as she took off into the familiar roads of her village.

Opening the doors to the familiar shop she used to always go to until she decided to dedicate almost all her time to her studies.

"Uncle Jessi!" she calls out to the middle aged man sat behind the counter "Caroline, so great to finally see you again"

"Nice to see you too Uncle" he wasn't her uncle by blood but he had been close friends with her parents which is why he is practically family "What brings you here?" the man asks as he continued wiping the counter top.

"I've got some good news" he gives her a look to continue "I received a letter from EMU today"

"Your mother dropped by earlier and mentioned that you've been waiting for something the whole day, I'm assuming this was it?" she nods enthusiastically "Yep! I haven't opened it yet, I was too nervous to even take a peek"

They share a small laugh and chatted for a few more minutes before customers began pilling in for their evening pastry cravings. She bid goodbye to the busy man and went out the shop.

As she made her way home she stumbled across a pathway that was covered with leaves and dirt, thinking that it must be a pathway to an abandoned place she followed it until it lead her to a small hut in the forest.

"Its really dirty in here, must have been abandoned for a long time" she thought out loud while observing the surroundings.

The hut had a few holes on the roof and it missed a few wooden planks, making you see the inside.

It was dark and the village was completely blocked by thick trees making it even creepier, although she wasn't too deep into the forest it still felt like it would take her ages to escape if someone were to come out of the dark.

Deciding to turn back as it grew later by the minute, Caroline bolted out of the forest and promised to never go there alone ever again as it gave her a weird feeling.

Surely there was a reason for the pathway to that hut to be hidden and it just so happened to be windy enough to blow some leaves away and reveal a small part of the gravel path.

When she got home she immediately searched for her parents as the letter made its way back to her mind "Mom! Dad! Are you home?" she asked as she removed her boots and placed them by the door.

"In the kitchen dear!" her mother responds "I've got some news, just give me time to go grab it"

She ran as fast as she could up the stairs, ignoring her parents calls for her to slow down, she ran just as fast down the stairs but this time with an envelope tightly clutched in her pale hands.

She sat down at the dining table beside her brother who was busy scribbling lyrics on his notebook to even notice her presence.

A plate of food was placed in front of her as she waited for everyone to be seated, once everyone was seated and ready she began talking "I received a letter from EMU earlier this evening" she begun and showed the white envelope to her parents.

"It was rather weird since a talking owl gave it to me" she looked rather confused which made her parents laugh "Important places or people tend to cast spells on different types of animals so they could deliver what needed to be delivered, they do this since you can't really trust people" her father explained.

Her parents told her to open it and check what was inside, she did as she was told and opened the piece of paper.

'Caroline Vlad, you are accepted into EMU or Extraordinary Monster University. We took note of your intelligence and have decided that it would only be right that you were to be accepted. Pack your bags as the very next day before sunrise your only ride to the University would pick you up. Best of luck to you and your colleagues.'

She read the note out loud and let every word sink in before she freaks out "I got accepted...I got accepted!" she exclaimed in joy as she ran and jumped around the kitchen "Enough celebrating, eat so you could pack and get some rest before you leave"

She listened to her fathers words as she knew a long day was awaiting for her in the Extraordinary Monster University.
