Harvey marched towards us and boy was he angry. I could hear him calling Nicole's name over the loud music. He shoved a guy blocking his path in his hurricane-like movement.
I watched in amusement. I had never seen him like this, he was usually reserved and to himself. He sure as hell would never do anything to attract any attention to himself the way he was doing now.
"We need to talk" he told Nicole. He gave me an acknowledging head nod before pulling Nicole away. Nicole gave me a sorry look and a sheepish smile as she allowed Harvey to pull her away.
This was the perfect opportunity to turn around and head home but I couldn't be that self-centered. I couldn't leave Nicole without telling her. I let out a breath. This was going to be a long night.
The club was very impressive. It had a white and purple interior with red, blue, green and purple light giving it an almost intimate feel.
I decided to head to the bar. If I could busy myself with a drink, I wouldn't look as out of place as I felt.
I sat on a bar stool, dropping my bag on my laps.
"Surprise me" I told the bartender when I got his attention. He was cute and he was constantly trying to hit on me. I was bored so I flirted back a little. He slid a drink towards me "it's on me" he said with a flirtatious smile. I smiled back and took a swing without hesitating. The aim was to get drunk.
The liquid slid down my throat leaving a burn. It was sharp but in a good way. I liked how it made me feel. I had emptied the glass a good two minutes later.I ordered another but decided to just nurse it in my hands. It would be a good idea to slow down, I didn't want to be silly drunk in a place where I could be easily taken advantage of.
I decided to wander around to see if I could find Nicole. I had called her twice and it went straight to voicemail. I needed to tell her I was leaving. A total of five guys had hit on me in the past half an hour, it had me slightly uncomfortable.
I walked in the direction they had stormed off earlier. I checked in a bathroom and regretted it immediately. There they were making out so heavily, they didn't even notice me open the door, squeal and shut the door. How could I unsee my best friend shoving her tongue down the throat of someone? They were going to do more than making out, that I was sure of. I was beyond embarrassed.
I shook my head trying to get rid of the mental image, walking as far away as I could get in reflex. I was now where the music was faint. I tipped my head back as I took a sip from the glass that I had been clutching.
I looked up when I felt a pair of eyes on me. A figure made its way to me, I couldn't really tell who it was in the dim lighting. He walked with grace, so mightily and majestically.
I was not ready for any other cocky guys right now. What the hell with the guys here anyway? I was just about to tell him exactly what how I thought he should get lost.
"Blue" he said in a breathy whisper as he stopped in front of me, his eyes never leaving mine. That automatically made the speech I had organized in the few seconds before vanish into thin air. That voice, it sounded familiar. Or maybe the drink was getting to my head.
I was about to tell him that he's mistook me for somebody else. My name was nothing close to blue and I wasn't even wearing the color but I stopped when I had a look at his face.
He was the guy from a week ago, the one whose car I had rammed into. I don't know how possible it is was for him to be more good looking but he was. The lights of the club casted shadows, making his face look serenely sensual.
He was dressed in dark jeans and the sleeve of the black shirt he had on was rolled up. He looked cruelly handsome, smooth appealing dark.
Still maintaining eye contact, he reached for a strand of my hair that had come loose. He played with it for a few seconds, curling the lock around his finger.
