The Unexpected

Chapter 1

Emily's POV:

This was the last week before we all went off to different colleges. We are all going to spend the rest of the week together until we go our separate ways. We're going to meet at the brew and then go to the movies.

When I walked into the brew it was so nostalgic. We have all had such good memories here in rosewood. I immediately saw Hanna, Spencer, and Aria sitting together.

"Hey guys!" I said walking up to them.

"Hey Em!! Have you heard Beyoncé's new album?!" Hanna Asks excitedly

"Yes! Omg I preordered it months ago! I'm in love with it!" I replied just as excited. The other girls were laughing at our fangirling. We stayed there for about another hour talking about some things and then we went to the theater.

When the movie was over, we all went to my house for a sleep over.

"Aria did u get accepted into Peperdine?" I asked

"Oh yeah I did! I thought I told you already."

"Oh maybe you did i don't know but congrats! I'm so proud of you!" I said

"Thanks!" She replied. Spencer was going to Harvard and Hanna was going to UCLA because Caleb lives in California now and she wanted to stay with him. I'm the only one staying around here. I'm going to miss them a lot but it will kind of be like a fresh start. Surprisingly high school went really well for us. We all met in freshman year in music class and we've been best friends since then. It's going to be hard leaving them. I know I'll see them again soon though.

"Guys every break we need to get back together and talk about school and anything new with our lives." I said to them.

"Of course we will! We will be close forever and text and call each other everyday." Aria said. I'm really going to miss my best friends.

<A week later>

I'm trying to get settled into my new dorm before my roommate comes. I hope she's cool. Like not a bitch because apparently there are a lot of those here.

When I finished unpacking everything, I say on my bed and was texting the girls in a group message when I heard the door open. I turned to see a gorgeous blonde girl with beautiful blue eyes.

All my friends and my family know I'm gay and they're all okay with it which is awesome.

"Hi." I said shyly

"Hey. I'm Alison DiLaurentis. Your roommate." She said putting a hand out for me to shake. I took it and it felt like our hands fit together perfectly. I was trying really hard not to blush. She looked at me expectantly.

"Oh sorry. My name is Emily Fields." I said wiping my sweaty hands on my jeans.

"Are my hands gross or something..?" She said half jokingly.

"Oh no haha I just do that a lot." I said nervously and she smiled at me. God that smile.

"Do you think you can help me unpack some things since it looks like you're done with yours?" She asked sweetly.

"Oh yeah sure!" I said embarrassed for not offering.

Alison's POV:

Emily is really pretty. I can't get her eyes or her smile out of my head. And the way she got nervous when we were talking was so cute! Most of my family doesn't know I like girls. Only Jason and my best friend Lauren. I love how they were both so accepting of it because some people are so against it I don't understand why. People are who they are, you can't really change it.

I was lying in bed on Twitter when Emily asked if I wanted to get something to eat.

"Sure. Where are we going?" I asked. She shrugged.

"I don't know. We can look around and see what's good." She suggested

"Okay sounds good to me. Let me get ready." I replied getting up to pick an outfit. Wow a night out with her sounds too good to be true.
