'There's somethin' sinister about that sister of yours'

That was when I first knew. Reggie was a deer shooting tooth rotting SOB, but he wasn't wrong.

"I'm Maisie, here for Millie." That's what I said to the night shift guard. He was new but even if he had been there for ten years I'd still have to tell him time after time that I wasn't my twin sister trying to escape, again.

The young man lead me to the farthest room, the darkest room. It was cold like a ghost had passed through me.

He nodded silently into the room as he held the large door open. It was quite heavy by the looks of it and rusted in many places.

"Millie?" I called to her. She sat shaking in the back corner like a dog that just got beat by its handler.

She glanced at me, a blank stare resting on her features, features that we shared.

But we were different, her black hair stuck out in places straw thin and dirty, while mine rested like feathers on my newly bought milk colored sweater.

"Maisie.." she breathed in relief, her sad lips turning up happily.

She rushed over hugging me tightly, gripping onto my hair and pulling harshly. I looked to her but she looked innocent her round blue eyes swam with love, she didn't mean to hurt me.

"Hi.. what.." my words are lost as I focused on her room. It was covered in scratches and one look at her nails told me she was relentless, they were worn down like those of people with a bad habit of biting their nails, something I had.

Symbols made out of various dull items in her room, plastic trays laid out in witch-type patterns like she tried to wish her way out.... or wish something to stay out.

She glanced proud and scared at her damaged walls. "They won't get me now."

"Yeah.. you're keeping them out." I reassured her, she smiled even wider giving fuel to my grin I smiled back.

I turned around to further explore her room.

I was just passing by the untouched food and weirdly spelled words when a heavy weight settled on my back.

"Playtime!" She cried cheerily way too loud next to my ear.

I couldn't say anything back though as suddenly I slipped in her odd words and fell forward knocking my head across the marble ground. I cursed whoever deemed her stable enough to leave the cushioned floor of her old room.

It wasn't much later when I woke up, instead of finding a guard calling me awake it was Millie.

"Maisie.." It was far away, her voice. I felt like a lost person at sea being called to from the boat as it floats away fog separating my view.

When I opened my eyes I was laying down, Millie lay on top of me. She quickly sat up and backed away on all fours.

She giggled excitedly like an unknowing child.

She didn't mean to hurt me.
