'They say every man goes blind in his heart
And they say everybody steals
somebody's heart away
And I've got nothing more to say about it
Nothing more than you would me
Send me your flowers of your December
Send me your dreams of your candy wine
I got just one thing I can't give you
Just one more thing of mine''

An icy serenade from outside drifted through the common room. Hermione was the one who pulled Hera from the freezing balcony and indoors, shaking her from her brief nap to let her know they were all downstairs.

She smiled a quick thank you to the younger girl, barely sparing a glance at her unsightly reflection as she left the room.

"Fucking finally! Rara, get in here!"
Fred yelled from across the room, throwing one of Hera's lighter parcels towards her.

She sat in an empty space between Hermione and Fred, opening Mrs Weasley's present with excitement. A smile of gratitude washed over her features as she made a mental note to write her thanks to Mrs Weasley later on.

"Who's that from?" George pointed to a loosely wrapped parcel in the shape of a small rectangle.

Hera exhaled at the sight of the small tag on the front.

We studied this book in a Muggle Studies class about sixteen years ago — I remember your Dad quietly saying how he would read this book to his future daughter.
No one thought anything of it at the time, but I realise now he was talking about you.

I'm not sure if he ever got around to reading it to you, but this was mine and James' book for that assignment.
I hope you can get past the scribbles and notes we made and enjoy it as much as he did.

Merry Christmas,
~ Moony

"An old friend, I think... "

Inside the small package, a dark, wilting rose lay on top of a gold-lettered book. She grasped the book in one hand, twirling the rose between her fingers on the other.
