Doyle Residence:
In the living room, the movie The Thing starts playing on the TV. Nick has his arm around Laurie's shoulders with her sitting close to him as they watch the movie with Tommy sitting next to them.
Tommy: What about the Jack-O-Lantern?
Laurie: After the movie.
Tommy: What about the rest of my comic books?
Nick: After the Jack-O-Lantern.
Tommy: What about the Boogeyman?
Laurie and Nick both look at Tommy.
Laurie: There's no such thing.
Tommy: Richie said he was coming after me tonight.
Nick: Do you believe everything Richie tells you?
Tommy: No.
Laurie: (Laughs silently) Tommy, Halloween night is when people play tricks on each other. It's all believe I think Richie was just trying to scare you.
Tommy: I saw the boogeyman. Me and Nick saw him outside.
Nick: Tommy, that might've just been someone wearing a costume and trying to scare us.
Laurie: Oh yeah, what he look like?
Tommy: The boogeyman.
Laurie and Nick laugh silently at the young boy.
Laurie: We're not getting anywhere. Alright, the Boogeyman can only come out in Halloween night, right?
Tommy: Right.
Laurie: Well, me and Nick are here tonight and we're not going to let anything happen to you.
Nick: She's right, we'll keep you safe from the Boogeyman.
Tommy: Promise?
Nick and Laurie: Promise.
Tommy: Can we make the Jack-O-Lantern now?
Laurie puts out her hand in front of Tommy and he grabs it.
Laurie: Let's go.
They get off the couch and go make the Jack-O-Lantern.
Outside:
At the Wallace residence, Annie walks outside to the outhouse where the laundry machines are. As she tries to turn the light on inside, it doesn't work.
Annie: (Sarcastic) Oh, terrific.
She walks to the other side of the laundry house to get the detergent and the door closes. She looks behind her and sees the door closed. As she turns around, she doesn't notice Michael watching her from outside the door. She turns around as she feels someone watching from somewhere.
Annie: Hello? Who's there? Paul, is this one of your cheap tricks?
She opens the door and looks to see no one outside.
Annie: Guess not. No tricks for Annie tonight.
As she puts her clothes and the detergent in the washer, the closes suddenly next to her. She goes to the door and tries to open it, but it was locked.
Annie: Lindsey! Lindsey, come out here! Lindsey, I'm in the laundry room and the door won't open!
Inside the house, Lindsey was still watching the tv and the phone rings next to her.
Outside, Annie hears the phone ring inside the house. What she doesn't notice is Michael watching her from outside on the other side of the laundry house.
