Alex, Mathew and Nathan were just standing there with their guns on the ground and their hands up in the air. Those officers started asking question to them after telling them that only the person to whom the question is asked shall answer the question.
The officer holding the assault rifle told them to nod if they understood. The three of them did as told. The first question was asked to Nathan who was the most nervous of them all right now.
"I guess I've seen you. How did you know that there even is this vault down here?" asked the officer
"I...I... I came to know from my boss. He once called the top five staff members of the years to congratulate them, I was one of them. There is kind of a ritual where every year in this event the boss shares one secret of the hotel. He told me this one last year."
"Mr. Riticky?" asked the officer
"Yeah"
"Where is he?"
"He's...He is..."
"Dead" said Mathew as he saw Nathan couldn't speak it.
"I told you all not to speak when not asked. I guess NONE OF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR LIFE RIGHT? I think I should just KILL YOU ALL RIGHT NOW." Said that officer angrily
"Yeah go ahead do it. Come on do it. There are hundreds of zombies outside this door (Said Alex pointing towards the door of the vault behind them.) Kill us right now and your chances of survival drop by fifty percent. You know you won't be able to get out right? You know you can survive for what... days here? Then what? You might not realize it but you need us. We need to gather as many people as we can to survive." Said Alex who was pushing forward. The other two officers were almost going to shoot him until the senior officer told them to stand down.
"What you say... might be true. But I can't just let anyone come here."
"I'm not anyone, I'm one of the inspectors from the PFC itself. That's what we've been trying to tell you but you won't listen."
"Oh really what was the code for today then? Can you..."
"Sleep eludes me"
"Oh. Can I see your..." before he could ask Alex showed his ID card to him.
"Oh sir, I sincerely apologize. My name is John. They both are Sam and Monard. What can I do to..."
"Okay to be honest I don't think we have time for this all right now." Said Mathew
"You have the communications room?" asked Alex "The one which is directly linked to PFC HQ?"
"Yes sir" replied John
"I need you to guide us there and then contact Mr. Peterson as soon as you can. After talking to him I need you to show me the weapons bay. Got it?"
"Yes sir... Sam go and unlock the weapon's bay, Monard stay here and see that the zombies don't come in. If the door starts breaking call us ok?"
"Yes sir" replied both Sam and Monard
"Ok to the communications room first." Said John
He told the three of them to follow him to the room. It was a not so broad corridor. Then went straight about for about ten meters and then took a left turn which lead to a staircase to go downstairs. They saw that Sam turned to the right side and then used that staircase.
After coming down, they all went to a big room which had four sleeping compartments on one side, four desks on the second side, two couches on the third side and then on the fourth side there was another passage. They saw that in the middle of the room there was a huge cubical platform, showing a holographic map of the whole city. Then there were two big computers on one of the sides. John entered the password into one of the computers. They called Mr. Peterson, but some other person picked up the phone.
