With the conversation that Jaehyun and I had the last time, I already have though that Jaehyun wouldn't contact me after.
I was precise. A week had passed, and Jaehyun hasn't sent me any message about our deal. I am confident he wouldn't spill the beans to everyone, but I was bothered by the cold treatment.
Whenever Eunwoo and I attend the same event or party wherein Jaehyun was supposed to be invited as well, he won't go there. I wasn't sure if he was ignoring mere in purpose, but it is frustrating to me.
But you know what's weird? I am more bothered and concerned by the thought that Jaehyun is defying me even though my initial mission was already accomplished. To date Eunwoo – that is the main plan, but I couldn't seem to uproot myself up to be happy.
The night with him was already done, and yet I still can feel it. The touch of coldness seeing through the coat that Jaehyun lent me, every move that he shifts, every expression that he gives, and most significantly – the gaze he was issuing me.
I retained it all clearly without generating any effort. I don't know if I am just emotional or just wholly drawn by the silhouette of Jaehyun's figure and rawness of our feelings. Whatever it is between the two seems to make no sense.
"I don't care if I get fooled. Besides," Jaehyun's lips quirked up into a mournful smile, "I don't mind getting hurt by you, though."
My lips parted, blinking at him, "W-What? What do you mean by hurt?"
"In every sense of that word."
"You are kidding," I said in disbelief, chuckling the nervousness away.
"I wish I am," He whispered, but it was thoroughly impossible to catch.
"What was it again?" I asked him.
Jaehyun sighed, and it sounded like he just gave up.
"I'm sorry," I instantly say, "I can't catch up. You're too quiet."
"Maybe that's it," Jaehyun mumbled.
I frowned. Am I just stupid, or Jaehyun's acting odd right now?
"I am too quiet, too silent," He even added.
"I don't get you," I said honestly, "You're acting so weird right now."
"Perhaps," He chuckled.
"You are, not just perhaps," I corrected him the continued. "Besides, silent and quiet have a huge difference to each other."
"How so?" He asked, sipping from his wineglass.
I breathed outward, readying myself for my long-ass explanation that might bore him to death.
Lacking confidence, I arch a brow to him.
"Won't you get bored?" I asked, quite suspicious of him as my eyes narrowed. "You are smarter than me."
