DELIA VIDAL moved from Andalucía to Muggle London with her mum and dad, Aítana and Carlos, when she was just seven years old. Her mum was a chemical engineer who thought she knew a lot about the world. And her dad was a carpenter who did well enough to open up a small artisanal furniture shop in London. However, when Delia turned eleven years old, they both realized their small world was a lot bigger than they had once believed.
Growing up, Delia liked London enough. She liked walking around the city and getting lost and she liked bumping into strange people. But when her Hogwarts letter came, she grew to love it. Knowing what hid beyond the London she thought she knew, Delia grew in awe of the city that had grown ordinary to her.
From the moment that she stepped foot in Diagon Alley, she knew that was where she wanted to be. Of course, it was a magical place but it was also magical. One day she'd have her own shop to open up.

When Delia finally got to Hogwarts, she was sorted into Hufflepuff and was happy there. Being a Muggle-born, she didn't inherently have any preference for what house she ended up in. Nor did she really think that it meant anything other than where she was going to sleep at night and where she would eat.
The same year that she arrived at Hogwarts, so did a boy named Harry Potter, who happened to get into a lot of trouble. In her house, though, Delia had made friends with Hannah Abbott pretty soon after being sorted. But it wasn't until her third year that she found her best friend. Ginny Weasley. Ginny was in the library when Delia sat at her table. There was a group of older Gryffindors who were being a bit too loud on the other side of the library, so Delia asked to sit by her instead. From that point on, Delia made it a point to smile at Ginny every time she passed her in the halls until they actually started talking.
Through Ginny, Delia met George Weasley. He, for the longest time, was just her best friend's brother until the Yule Ball came around. Fred had gone with Angelina and Ginny had told George that Delia didn't have a date. They knew each other well enough that it wasn't the most awkward choice. And it meant that Delia could spend the night with Ginny without it being weird for her date.
Through Ginny, Delia also met Neville who quickly became her best guy friend. And through Delia, Neville met Hannah. His current girlfriend. Hogwarts with them was fun and just the right amount of mischievous. They were her people and she never really needed anything outside of them. It was always Ginny, Neville, and Delia. Sometimes with the added George, who liked to tease Delia for the hell of it. Sometimes with the added Luna, who Delia valued for being so different from herself, even though they never clicked enough to be best friends. But nowadays, outside of Hogwarts, their most common addition is Hannah.
George and Delia's friendship didn't blossom as much until fifth year when she'd caught him and Fred in the kitchens late at night. After the first time they'd bumped into each other, every single time Delia would head to the kitchens, it'd only be a few minutes later that George would come. Only sometimes accompanied by his twin.
During their nighttime charades, was when George and Delia both learned that the other wanted to open a shop in Diagon Alley after they graduated. George was going to open up a joke shop, and Delia revealed that she wanted to open up a muggle shop. As a muggle-born, all the muggle stuff was normal to her. And she felt like if wizards had more exposure to muggle lifestyles and muggle things, maybe they would be less prejudiced against them. Maybe with a bit of education, wizard and muggle relations could be better. And maybe there would be less pureblood supremacists. That was her hope at least.
In her time at Hogwarts, Delia dealt with a number of people who thought they were better than her for being a muggle-born. But for the most part, people didn't pay much attention to the Hufflepuff unless she was around her Gryffindor friends. Actually, there was one person who actually avoided her like the plague unless she was surrounded by her Gryffindor friends. After their one conversation in his sixth year, she could tell that he made an effort to not see her. It wasn't an everyday occurrence for her to be so honest with someone she doesn't like very much. But when one person in the party is crying, it calls for a little extra bravery.

Delia is looking back at her time at Hogwarts when she gets an owl from the ministry.
Delia Vidal:
The ministry is interested in acquiring your expertise in order to teach a workshop to our pureblood ministry employees about muggle and muggle-born identities. As the owner of The Muggle Shop, we believe you would be the best party to help dismantle prejudices and misconceptions surrounding muggles and muggle-born wizards and witches. We know this is the initiative of your Muggle Shop, and ask that you may bring your mission to the ministry. The reconstruction of the ministry after the war is our utmost priority. With your help, we hope to build a better and more just wizarding world.
Please get back to us within the week to further discuss what this job entails.
With regards,
Roger Hughes

She was a little bit nervous but this is what she set out to do years ago in Hogwarts. This was why she opened her little Muggle Shop in Diagon Alley. This is also what sparked her memory of her one real conversation with Draco Malfoy.
