It was a chili Friday in October. The time was exactly 2:15 a.m. The sky was pitch black with rain clouds.  The rain slapped against the rooftops and side walks. It was a calming noise to many. Accasional thunder clapped which made dogs bark.

A boy around the age of thirteen tossed and turned in his bed.  His hair was black and his eyes were an ocean blue. This boy's name is Haruka Nanase. His friends call him Haru for short. Haru didn't hang out with many people. He prefers to be by himself most of the time.
Many people thought he was weird so they didn't go out of their way to talk to him. His childhood friend, Makoto, even tried introducing Haru to new people. Haru didn't have any interest in the people Makoto introduced.
Haru did make friends on his own.
There was Rin, Nagisa, Asahi, and Ikuya. Ikuya was his newest friend.
Haru didn't act like it, but he cared for Ikuya and wanted to get close to him.

Haru tossed and turned in his sleep more. He was having a very bad dream.
Haru quickly bolted up from his bed. His eyes were wide open and his breath, along with his body, we're shaking. Sweat ran down from his forehead to his cheek.
He shakily reached over to his nightstand to grab his phone.
He went into his contacts and dialed a number.
After a few rings the other line picked up.

"Haru...? It's early... why are you calling?"

"Ikuya. You're ok. That's a relief." Haru said.

"Yeah...why wouldn't I be?" Ikuya asked.

"I....I had a dream that.. you died. It was my fault. And you haunted me. Your ghost was so sad. Other things happened. I had to call to make sure you were ok." Haru said.

"Wow Haru. I'm sorry you had a bad dream. I'm alright, I promise. You should get some sleep though. It'll be three soon." Ikuya said.

"I can't sleep now. I'm awake." Haru said.

"Oh..."

"Ikuya."

"Yeah?"

"I'm coming over now."

"H-Huh? Haru. It's raining. And it's dark out. It's dangerous." Ikuya said.

"You don't live that far from me. Have warm blankets and clothes for when I get there." Haru said.

Before Ikuya could say anything else, Haru hung up the phone and jumped out of bed.

He threw on some clothes and left his house.

Haru knocked on the door. Ikuya quickly opened it. He was standing by the door so he wouldn't have kept Haru waiting.
Haru's clothes were soaked.

Ikuya handed Haru the warm and folded clothes so he could change.
Haru went to the bathroom and can get the clothes.
Ikuya threw Haru's wet clothes in the dryer.

"Why did you want to come over? It's still early." Ikuya asked.

"I want to make sure you're ok for the rest of the night... technically morning." Haru said

Ikuya didn't know what to say.
He was still tired so he yawned. He led Haru in his room.
There was a TV, radio, and other things for Haru to do.

"Well. I'm going back to sleep. You can watch TV or something." Ikuya said.

Ikuya crawled back in his bed and threw the covers over his body.
Haru turned on the TV and sat down next to Ikuya. He got under the covers as well. He turned down the volume so he didn't keep Ikuya up.

After a little while Haru heard the sounds of light snoring.  He looked over to Ikuya to see him sleeping.
He was relieved to know Ikuya was ok. Haru never wanted to loose Ikuya. He wanted to protect the smaller boy for any and all harm.
Haru turned off the tv. He turned his attention to Ikuya again. Ikuya was adorable.
Haru leaned down and placed a soft kiss on Ikuya's cheek before laying down and cuddling him.
Ikuya woke up a little later and noticed Haru was cuddling him. Ikuya blushed and smiled. He held Haru's hand and fell back asleep.
