She was broken, battered and bruised
Inside and out too
The pain hadn't left her eyes
But that was no surprise
She hadn't liked him from the start
He watched her play her part
She left the house that day
Without her piece of art
There was something in her eyes
Something held her from a smile
Never knowing what it was
He knew she must be lost
"I'll save her from the night
Or whatever has her in fright
The moment may not be right
But this time it's not her fight"

Authors Note
Hi everyone. For those of you who don't know me, I'm Emily!
This is my new project and the idea is is that this is a short story with a plot, an outcome etc, but it's in the form of a poem; which is quite cool I think.
I was initially inspired by foreversmilin with her story "Flawed Souls", but I wanted to make it more based around poetry if that makes any sense at all!? But please, do check out her book! It's absolutely fabulous and I actually cried whilst reading it.
Also, I'd like to dedicate this chapter to @sweetnuthing who made the beautiful cover to this book. Thank you!
