Different Path (Sasuke AU)

Chapter 19

I open my eyes and see the blinding hospital lights. I groan and throw an arm over my eyes to shield them from the light.

"You are awake I see"

I jolt at the chuckling voice.

"Wow. I didn't expect you to jump Sasuke"

I death glare Kakashi-sensei.

He puts his arms up in defence.

"You were out for a whole day"

I sit up and look around for my notebook. Kakashi hands it to me with a pen.

So what happens now?

"Well, you have 1 month to train until the final exam. It will be like a tournament sort of thing. I have decided to teach you my jutsu"

I stare at him intently.

"You remember the Chidori right?"

I stare at Gaara who stared back at me menacingly. He had that cold look in his eyes that gave away his bloodthirst. I smirk back at him.

"Begin!"

I run backwards and up the wall. I build up chakra in my hand and weave it together with my lightning affinity just as I had practised. The high pitch chirping echoed throughout the stadium.

All Gaara did was make a thick shell of sand around him.

I charge towards him with full speed. Spikes made of sand flew towards my direction. I swiftly dodge them all and punctured his shell with my newly perfected Chidori.

A shrill scream escaped from inside the sand dome-like structure and a monster like arm shot out of it.

Hand wraps around my legs. I rip myself out of its grip and backflip to a safer distance. At that moment. A loud explosion was heard from where the Hokage and Kazekage sat. They were covered by a thick cloud of smoke.

I look back at Gaara and see him charging their way.

My eyes widen at a sudden realisation
