Vic POV

"So," I start. Its been a week since Kellin and I went on our first date and things are going swimmingly. We're waiting for everyone else in the cafeteria and I want to spend as much time with him as possible, so that's why I'm going to invite him to my family's annual barbecue. Of course, I'm nervous as hell and afraid of getting hurt. You know the Oli incident and getting close to someone else but I know Kellin wouldn't hurt me like that but if that fucklamp can be off living life to the fullest then I should be able to be happy too, goddammit. "I was wondering..."

"Yes?"

"My family usually has this sort of get-together at this time of year and I was gonna ask if you wanted to go. I'd understand if you wouldn't and my relatives can be a little unbearable at times. I mean, have you seen Mike? The kid is rambunctious. Just imagine the rest of them. So, never mind. Forget I asked, it was stup-" Before I finish, Kellin cuts me off with a peck on my lips.

He smiles a little before telling me to calm down. "Of course I'll go."

"Thanks."

"How are things in Paradise City?" Mike asks as he takes the seat in front of me with the rest of our little group in tow.

"Take me down to the Paradise City, where the grass is green and the girls are pretty." Tyler sings. "I saw the chance and took it." Mike just gives him this look.

"Anyways, have you asked Kellin to the barbecue?" My brother questions.

I decide to mess with him a bit because why not. So, in my best southern accent I say "Why no, Michael, I have not." I grab Kellin's hand. "Kellin, may you do me the honors of accompanying me to my family's shindig tomorrow evening. I reckon you'd say no, on account of my careless brother's antics. Go ahead, leave. I can take it."

"Well, Victor, never have I ever been asked to be included in such a wondrous event. I'd love to partake in this celebration. Take this napkin as a token of my gratitude." He says, waving his napkin around.

"You guys are weird." Mike says.

"Whatever, be jealous." I say, flipping my hair.

"Jealous of what? You're two inches tall and smell like a girl."

"Hey! Herbal Essences just gives off this magnificent aroma that most males shampoos lack and if you can't accept that then I will not be able to associate with you, Michael."

"Oh no, how ever will I cope with the atrocity of not being able to communicate with my pipsqueak of a brother." He gives a puppy dog look and ruffles my hair.

"Enough of that." Tyler interrupt s our little debacle. "So, I have a gig for you guys. Well, two actually. One, at a warehouse and the second at the winter formal."

Mike falls out of his chair and I just smile. "Whoa, really?"

"Yes, really." He says, mocking my tone. "Now, I suggest you practice."

The rest of the day goes by pretty quickly. I'm on my way out the back building when I find myself wondering what the weekend will bring. I know that my family will love Kellin. But, will he love them? I know that my family gets a little hard to handle and I would like to think that no matter how they act, they won't affect my relationship. Then again, I don't know if I should date someone who doesn't like my relatives. Kellin won't be that rude.

I'm sure of it. He's too sweet.

"Ready to go, bro." Hey, that rhymed.

I laugh a little at my observation. "Yeah, hold on." I look around. "Have you seen Kellin?"
