(3rd pov) 

Many years ago in an enchanted forest among the Northuldra people, a baby girl was born with mysterious powers. But, the Northuldra saw the girl’s gift as a curse, unlike the spirits who could control their abilities. She couldn’t the simplest noise made the girl jump most of the time resulting in a mass spread of fire in the village. Why would nature gift her with this power it couldn’t have been a gift this girl caused so much destruction for their people. So when the girl hit the age of 18 they cast her away from the village telling her never to return. The girl lived deep in the forest in a cave away from anyone that she could harm or hurt with her curse. The forest spirits took pity on the girl she was cast away from the only home she knew after all. To make up for the Northuldra’s carelessness. They provided the girl with food and fresh water to drink as a way to make up for her people’s actions. She thanked the spirits for their kindness and in return for food she sang for them. Her singing was able to soothe the spirits when they became unruly. Now, we go to the present day the fog from the forest has cleared away and now the Northuldra could leave and walkabout outside the magic forest. But, this worried the girl cause that meant people could start coming into her part of the enchanted forest and she was scared. That she might hurt someone with her curse. So she retreated deeper into the forest to hide away from anyone she could hurt. When she starts packing Gale floats over to her making some of her blankets fly into the air. 

“GALE! Stapp,” she whined and refolded the blankets which have some holes in them and fire singed ends. They may not be the best quality sheets but what was she supposed to do? Go back to the Northuldra and say hey I’m the girl you cast out all those years ago for setting everything on fire! Can I have some blankets to keep me warm at night? Yeah thought so. “Gale I can’t play with you right now,” she said while putting the blankets into a satchel. Gale chitters blowing a puff a wind at her making her clothes fly up. (y/n) groans pushing her clothes back down muttering while fixing her hair. “I don’t have time to play now Gale,” she sighed and looked over all her stuff once again. Gale looks around picking up an acorn with some air throwing it at the girl’s head. (y/n) turns around sighing softly before throwing her hands up in defeat. “Fine! I’ll play with you. For a spirit you act like a child sometimes you know that?” 

Gale chirps picking her up with his wind making her float around in the air. She laughed and used her arms to move around like she was swimming. Sometimes she may not admit it but Gale was one of the most fun spirits out of the 4. No offense to Bruni, nokk, and earth giants was plenty of fun! But, Nokk couldn’t play with her cause of water, Bruni always caught things on fire like she did and the giants couldn’t play with her as well they would crush her if they did. Gale made her float above the trees so she could see the whole forest. Up there she could see the smoke from the campfires in the Northuldra’s camp and the herds of reindeer that they were leading out in the flower meadows nearby. Heh just wait until they see the big burn mark in the middle of yesterday’s accident. It wasn’t her fault after all that reindeer came out of nowhere and spooked her. 

“I wonder how they are. I know they are all complete and other assholes. But, they are still people.” She sighed while floating up in the air looking at the village with almost a longing expression. (y/n) thought about how different her life would be if she was born normal. Like the people in the Northuldra not needing to worry about setting stuff on fire every 5 seconds. Or when she sneezes as well. Gale blows some wind in her face making her leave her daydreams behind a cause that’s what they’ll always be dreams. Her powers were a curse who would gift someone with this monstrous power anyway? 

Elias walked with the Northuldra people to the flower meadows he almost instantly noticed the large ash mark in the middle. Did Bruni lose control and burn this patch. No that was impossible! Bruni was with him all day yesterday after all so he couldn’t have done this. Yelena the leader of the Northuldra sighed in frustration.
